"Oh Tae, look it's mochi! Come on!" I dragged him to one of the booths selling my favorite japanese dessert. While I was deciding my phone started to ring. I grabbed my phone and answered without checking caller ID.
"Ah Ren! I hope I'm not calling too late, I got stuck at the office longer than expected. Are we still up for meeting?"He asked me. My eyes widened, I forgot I was supposed to meet for dinner with PD-nim. I glanced at Taehyung who was trying to decide his flavor of mochi with the cutest frown on his face.
"Um, actually I'm trying to prepare for my friend to come live at my house. I'm currently out shopping for some necessities needed for her stay. Could I possibly take a rain check?"I asked him.
"Yeah that should be fine. I'll call you when I get some free time. Have a goodnight." He said and I wished him the same. I slid my phone back into my purse and Taehyung grabbed me around my waist.
"I ordered you Green Tea mochi, I hope that was ok? You were busy on the phone." He told me. I looked at him and smiled, "That's my favorite flavor, how'd you know?" I asked him.
"Boyfriend Instincts?" He tried. I shook my head.
"No it can't be those seeing as that would be a false statement." I teased him. The lady handed us our mochi and I thanked her and gave her a tip. She thanked me and took the tip.
We walked away from the booth to go examine some others from a distance. "Ren." "Hmm?" I asked as I took a bite from my mochi. "Do you want to go on a walk by the Han River? It's not that far." He asked. I nodded my head and followed him to the sidewalk.
It took us about ten minutes to get to the river and it was beautiful at night. "Wow. It's so pretty." I said and leaned on the railing a bit. "Wow, hey be careful. I really don't feel like taking a swim tonight." He chuckled as he grabbed me by my waist. I rolled my eyes and started to wiggle the railing a bit.
"Does this scare you Taehyung, do you think I'm going to fall?" I asked him with a smirk. He scowled at me and pulled my to a bench close by.
We sat really quiet for a long time until he got a text from someone. He smiled and pushed his phone back into his pocket. "I'm surprised no one recognised you. I mean you're only in a face mask. Someone is bound to recognise you." I finally spoke up, trying to start a conversation before it gets too awkward.
"Oh uh yeah. Strange huh." He said but he was looking around and wasn't really engaged in the conversation.
"Maybe we should go ho-" "No! I mean why? Aren't you having fun?" He cut me off.
My eyes widened and he just sighed, taking my hand and running his thumb over the top of it. "Taehyung. What's wrong?" I asked after a minute.
"Look, Ren. I really like you and everyone keeps bothering me about our relationship. I really like you but I feel like I'm rushing it a little. Did I scare you when I cut you off?" He looked me in the eyes as he spoke.
"No but you seem seem a little on edge. It's because of the text you got. Are you okay? Do you need to be somewhere?" I asked him.
He ran his other hand through his hair and let out a big breathe. "No, it was just Namjoon hyung. He was asking me a question." He didn't really explain. "Oh." I replied and turned to look out at the river.
"Ren?"
"Yeah?"
"Look at me for a second." I turned my head to look at him.
His hand was slightly shaky in mine.
"Ren will you be my..."
I was distracted from Taehyung as I noticed something-or rather someone in the background.
"Ren?" I looked back a Taehyung.
"Huh?" I asked. He closed his eyes and shook his head.
"You weren't listening?"
