The Visit

Inspired by True Events (Chris going to jail)

Robyn stepped into the slightly cold room waiting to be called so she could see him soon a guard escorted her to the visitors' room. They haven't seen each other in a couple of months and when she got the news that he was in jail for a parole violation; he got kicked out of rehab. The judge ordered him to spend a month inside the LA county jail. She was worried about him being in here and needed to visit him as soon as possible just so she had some peace of mind cause she wouldn't be happy or okay if he wasn't. It actually mattered to her that he found some peace it was just sad that he might've found it here where he didn't need to be. But she was determined to be here for him no matter what she's been down for him since day one and they had many challenges to face and she was gonna face this one with him.

Chris was laying down on his cot when he heard a voice coming near his cell. "Come on Brown you have a visitor." The brown skin prison guard said to him he nodded and straightened his orange jumpsuit before going to the guard so he could be handcuffed the guard shook his hand. "Just this once I'm let you not wear these because she shouldn't have to see you like this but when your visit is over the special treatment is over."  The guard told him to put his hands behind his back and to walk with him to the visitor's room. Chris grew slightly confused at the way the guard was acting. It was probably his mother or Kae coming to visit him they've seen him with handcuff on, so he didn't know why the guard was acting brand new about his visitor's arrival.

She took a deep breath and exhaled she had never  been to a place like this before and was slightly nervous even though they were gonna have somewhat of a private meeting today. The doors opened to the visitors room and in stepped a brown skin guard with Chris in tow; Robyn got up from her chair and rushed over to greet him, but stopped abruptly to check with the guard to see if touching was okay, he nodded his head and that gave Robyn the boost she needed and wrapped her arms around Chris' neck giving him a hug. Chris looked bewildered when he saw that it was Robyn here in the flesh he thought he was in a dream but when she touched him he knew this was real and he wondered why she was here; he thought that she didn't want to speak to him ever again but now she was visiting him in jail and that made him happy to know that she still cared about him to see if he was okay.

They let each other go and sat down both had smiled on their faces as Chris spoke first. "Wow I didn't think you would ever come to a jail in your life."

Robyn let out a nervous chuckled, "Well I'm here visiting you and that's the only reason why I came here it was because of you cause I damn sure wouldn't be doing this  for any other man but you."

"You still care for me?" He asked. "Never stopped caring but even when I was mad at you I still cared and never wanted to see anything bad happen to you you know that Chris."

Chris nodded his head "How are you?" 

"I'm alright the real question is how are you is everybody treating you fairly? I don't have to call up lawyers do I?" She raised her perfectly arched eyebrow. Chris chuckled. "Nah BabyGirl I'm straight just can't wait to get back home to some normalcy; eating real food, wearing whatever I want, and also I just want to get out and not have anybody tell me what to do ya know."

"I feel you babe. Don't worry though you'll be back home in no time. We got you when you come home."

"We?" He said with interest. Robyn smiled "Yeah we as the old crew your day one niggas and mama J she was the one who told me you were in here and I told her that I wanted to visit you when I was back in LA. She made the arrangements and now here I am."

"Mama always got you on speed dial if anything happens to me she'll be the first to tell you."

You already know me and your mother always speak everyday on the phone. We have a special connection. She thinks of me as her daughter in law."

"I know. So tell me what do you have planned for me?"  He sat up with his fingers laced together. Robyn straightened up and leaned forward. "First things first is that you handle your probation and get that situated then we're gonna cleanse your life and start putting good positive vibes back in and letting all the bad shit go starting with your friends."

"My friends? Robyn they aren't that bad." Robyn scoffed and folded her arms against her chest. "When you're in the media almost everyday for allegedly getting caught up in some bullshit with your clown ass friends they are that bad Chris. Kid Red and Wackstar out here embarrassing you trying to tear you down by building themselves up. They not on your level and soon you need to realize that."

Chris was listening to her but he couldn't let those people go right now he needed them in his life just so he could feel better about himself at the end of the day. Robyn watched his facial expression and knew he was listening to her but was he getting the point she was trying to make? She hoped

"Know who your real friends are and we're gotta show you that when you get home. Your circle needs to change. We can't see you like this anymore having enablers and leeches around you and  making you be something I know you're not."

"I hear you Robyn and I'm work on that I promise just promise me that you will always be there for me." He spoke seriously. "I've been down for you since day and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." She grinned which made him smile. It always felt good to be near her again that's when he was the most happiest. They only had fifteen more minutes to talk and of course Chris flirted with her a little making her blush and giggle. He told her how good she looked and that he was lucky to have a friend like her in his life. Emotions ran high as tears decorated both their faces as they expressed their love for each other. Robyn took her hand and  caressed Chris' cheek. He moved slightly to put a soft kiss on her hand. He loved her with all his heart she been there for him since the beginning and he just hoped that his day one would hold him down like his so called girlfriend wasn't doing at this particular time.

They stared at each other for the 5 mins that remained of their visit. No words were spoken just silence they knew by what the other was thinking and by their body language they spoke fluently letting the other know that their relationship was more than friendship and nothing was gonna change that.

"I love you." Robyn said while getting up and hugged him. "I love you too BabyGirl." He kissed her cheek before smiling and caressing the spot where he kissed her. "Something to think about while you're in here; who's really down for you and has your best interested at heart. We'll be waiting for you when you get released."

Chris nodded his head in understanding he gave her the biggest hug ever before the guard came to put the handcuffs on him. Robyn couldn't watch as the love of her life was being handcuffed, so before the guard took them out she said her goodbyes and exited the visitors' room and out of the LA county jail where her uber awaited. Dealing with Chris again was gonna be interesting but she was ready to take another chance on him and hoped he finally realized who his day ones were especially her she was gonna help get his life back together so he could be finally happy and at peace. The old crew was coming back full force this time and it was gonna stay that way. Plans were gonna be set in motion.
