It was the next morning and Lauren was standing outside her house. She was glad to be back, but she knew it was only for today. Because of the all nighter she pulled, she was running on basically nothing and was still in her scrubs as well. The doctor knew she looked like shit and that Camila would be ready to comment as soon as she saw her.

"Why do you look like death with scrubs on?" The brunette immediately asked when she opened the door.

"Because I was up saving lives all night. Now are you going to let me in or are you going to keep commenting about my appearance, because I could just leave."

"No just get in the shower, you have thirty minutes." Camila replied pointing behind her.

Lauren assumed that Amber was at school already so she just walked past her room and went straight to the room she shared with her wife. Grabbing an outfit and a towel, she wasted no time in getting under the warm water. The entire shower lasted about fifteen minutes and it felt good to finally be in casual clothing afterwards.

"We have ten minutes, we're going to act li-Like one big happy family I know." Lauren cut her wife off by interrupting.

"Okay um, do you want some breakfast?" Camila asked as she stood by the stove.

"Yea, I'll help." The doctor stood up from the dining table and that was when the brunette was able to see her wife's outfit.

She had almost forgotten how attractive she looked with casual clothing on, she couldn't help biting her lip.

Moments later, the doorbell sound ran through the house and both women suddenly became nervous. They had forgotten all about their fight -and the eggs- then placed big smiles on their faces. Camila did the honors of opening up the big glass doors and there stood an older version of Sinu Cabello with a black suitcase placed right next to her. How long did she plan on staying?

"Hello my dears!" She greeted with a big smile.

"Hi mom, come in." Camila spoke hesitantly.

Lauren carried the suitcase inside after her mother in law stepped inside and then took the liberty in placing it in one of the guest rooms. As she walked back downstairs, she heard a conversation already taking place.

"I see you guys are doing well." Sinuhe stated as she took a look around.

"Yes we are, we got by just fine." Camila told her with slight venom in her voice.

When the Cabellos stopped supporting them, Camila's bank account was wiped clean and she had nothing left to pay for college. Her job as a waitress only helped so much, but somehow she made it through with her wife's help who later on paid all of her student loans.

Sinu either didn't catch her daughter's tone or decided to ignore it, "I almost got lost, this house is so huge I didn't know where the front door was."

"So why are you here?" The daughter asked.

"I wanted to catch up on your lives and get to know my granddaughter."

"That's hard to believe after all these years."

"And Amber isn't here, she's at school." Lauren spoke up for the first time.

"Actually she's in her room, she's sick."

"And you didn't te-I mean yeah she is." The doctor remembered she had to act like she knew everything that was going on in her household.
