Chapter 5: EJ arives

My mom and I are sitting in the living room seeing who will get here first when I get a text from EJ saying "Hey I am outside." I reply with "Good you got here first. Come ring the doorbell and I will open the door." He replies saying "Ok let me get my bags.".
I hear the doorbell ring and I go to open it. I see EJ and then see another car coming up behind it but it isn't a taxi. I ignore it pull EJ inside and drop to the ground. We then army crawl to my mom's room where all the bulletproof gear and guns are. We explain to him why those are there. He just looks and nods. We then put on our gear. I put on the gear that EJ gave me. He made it red camo just for me cause it is my favorite color. My mom and EJ put on the ones that my mom had and pick up the guns. Their guns and gear is black and my gun is red camo to match my gear. EJ has never seen me in my gear because I never had to use it. He just looks at me like he is seeing a perfect girl but I know that he is just doing that because of the gear. I play along and smile. We all go and sit in the living room. I then look into the backyard and see something glowing. I'm not sure what it is so I call EJ over to the window and point to it. He sees it and says it looks magical. Like nothing he has seen before and I agree I have never seen it ethier. We look at it longer until my mom comes over and shuts the blinds. When she shuts the blinds I say "Mom what was that for?". She replies with saying "Remember how the other day I said I heard magical things about that forest?". "Yea." I say with an what is this leading to face. She looks at me and EJ and says "That is a magical flower. I was told when I bought the house to stay away from glowing flowers.". I look at EJ and give him an is she serious face. He replies by shrugging his shoulders. My mom looks at both of us and smiles as if this is funny.
The more I don't see the flower the more I imagine it. Did it imprint my mind? Is it doing something to me? I go over to EJ and say "Hey do you feel a connection with that flower even after we couldn't see it anymore?". He sits and thinks and finally says "Kinda, why?". I look at him and say "I think I found out the flowers power.".
