~Kuiper's P.O.V~
Yes! Finally! I was going to confess to Niyah later sometime after winter break, which ends after this weekend, but thanks to the AWESOME Christmas gift I got for her, she ended up telling me first. Kind of. Wow... That sounded kind of harsh... But, pretty much I'm just really glad that she likes me, and wouldn't just accept my confession because she felt bad for not feeling the same way.
I've liked her since I met her. She hates how she looks, but she is beautiful. She's also on the weird side, but that just makes her so special to me. She's into paranormal and cute stuff, which is actually a really weird mix, but I love it. It makes her a million times more interesting.
She also has this kind of tick sometimes when she's under a lot of pressure. Her eyes will turn a duller color, and start to twitch. I find it very unique, and a very important part of her, even if she hates it. I really hope she enjoys our date. Even though I can tell that both of us are nervous wrecks. I mean who wouldn't be on their first date, ever. Not to mention the fact that it's with my best friend. Well, let's hope I can do this with no mistakes!
As I drive, Niyah flips through the radio. She finds our favorite song, and starts to sing along, doing little dance moves here and there. I can't help but notice how cute she is. She's wearing a pink dress that makes her look like she came straight out of some moe anime. We both are really into anime, so we tend to cosplay. A LOT. It's really fitting for her, in a way that makes it seem like she was meant to do it. She has long bluish-black hair that flows around her baby-type face, and brings out her crystal blue eyes and-
"Kuiper! Kuiper!"
I'm suddenly brought back to reality by Niyah screaming my name. I look straight ahead at the road, I guess, that I wasn't paying attention, and I see that we had missed our turn.
"You missed our turn, Idiot.", she says flattly.
Dang it.
"I.. Uh... Meant to do that! There was this thing, on this street, that I wanted to show you!", I say hoping she'll take the excuse.
"Right... Well I REALLY want a muffin and hot cocoa, so please hurry!", she begs.
"Alright, alright! We're almost there anyway, so just hold on.", I say back.
She loves sweets and eats them all of the time. I always end up having to buy them for her, but I don't mind as long as she's smiling. Sadly, I haven't seen her do that much recently. Hopefully today will change that.
All of a sudden Niyah's phone starts going crazy ringing the opening theme to Attack On Titan. She answers it and the person on the other end starts shooting questions at her while giggling and squealing every now and then. I instantly knew that it was Rowan.
"Rowan. Calm-! No! NO! Rowan! SHUT UP! THAT NEVER HAPPENED!"
"Is that Queen-Big-Mouth?" I ask chuckling at the very fitting nickname. Niyah laughs and puts her hand over the bottom of the phone,
"I cannot believe her accusations sometimes!"
I laugh at the thought of Rowan screaming, and running around the room fangirling over things that never even happened, and most likely never will. She tends to do this a lot. Things like finding "meaning" and crap behind things that absolutely "mean" nothing.
By now, Niyah is done with her phone call, and we are pulling into a parking space at the lonely little shop next to a run-down little park. I get Niyah a peppermint hot chocolate, and a snicker doodle muffin. Luckily they were fresh so they were pretty warm, and since it was winter, I was hoping it would warm her up. Considering the outfit she was wearing, she had to be freezing. I got a regular coffee with sugar and milk. Next to me, her order seemed so childish. But to me, that's what made her, her.
