Expensive Dream

I have an expensive dream,

Because I want to express creativity

That's beyond your wildest dreams

Or perhaps mine;

Because all I want to do is see my creation come to life

And see the thrill in a child's eye when they see a masterpiece.

But it's expensive,

Guess I'll join the pirates and hunt for treasure,

A classic fairytale, of course,

Sail through storms, make my way through jungles

Landing scars and bruises, because it's apart of the norm.

Blood is engraved on the gold I attained

In exchange for a piece of paper with fancy letters,

As if it could grant me a million diamonds,

Only to tell me I am eligible for a distort success.

Oh, expensive dream

What a heartbreaker you are

A challenge you are

A lifetime experience you are

You're killing me, you devious bastard.

All I want to do is run through a field of daisies

Barefooted, like a child,

Chasing butterflies endlessly

As if I am chasing a dream.

Oh, but, it's damn expensive

To see the beauty of life

You got me scraping my wrists

Living on streets

Choking on copper and nickel

Because it was all I could afford to swallow.

And please, don't drown me.

I have hydrophobia, you see,

But you're already hitting me with waves of suicide

Sending chills down my spine

I've lost the game of hangman,

Because I'm the one hung up on this

"Goose chase",

they say.

But they don't see the wings I've grown

The possibility to soar with swans

Gliding with pride like an eagle.
