He lightly ran his hands through the smaller boys pastel hair, as he lay silently on his stomach listening to the rain as it hit the ground.

"Justin"

It had been the first word spoken in hours.

"yeah"

Justin gazed up at the older boy and suddenly the  boy looked nervous. He rubbed behind his ears slightly- an old nervous habit and glanced down, both of their eyes connecting.

"What's it like being gay?" Justin stifled a laugh at the oblivious question and sat up suddenly, crossing his legs and cocking his head. He was staring at him intently and was close enough to see the constellation of freckles running down his nose, and the crescent moon that made up his eyes.

"Are you seriously asking that Jay? What happened to you being straight?"

Jay's ears tinged pink at the tips.

"I am straight....I was just curious- look it doesn't matter"

"No look sorry let me-"

"It's okay"

Jay didn't bother to ask another question.

They sat in silence for the rest of the night.
