Josh's POV
Fuck, what had I done? Katrina went missing last night. After she kicked me out, I drove back to my house. Chris called me this morning freaking out saying that Katrina wasn't home and hadn't even left a note to tell him where she went. What if something happened to her? This is all my fault. If I hadn't been such a dick we would have spent the whole day watching movies and possibly more.
"God damn it, Josh!" I mentally scolded. The woman I love is missing and I'm thinking about sex? I'm such an asshole.
Wait, did I just say I loved her? Holy shit...
"Earth to Balz!" Chris yelled slapping my head. I sat on his couch, blankly staring at the coffee table.
"What?" I grumbled.
"I asked if you wanted anything to eat." Food? His sister is nowhere to be found and he is thinking about food?!
My thoughts were shattered by the front door being swung open.

Katrina's POV
I woke up choking on my own saliva; how attractive. Looking around the dank room, my vision came into focus to see multiple passed out lumps sprawled in a position similar to my own.
"Hey, finally awake? Morning line?" Hunter asked from a table under the only light in the room.
"Sure." I replied. Maybe it would help to ease the massive headache pounding in my skull.
"I slipped a little something in your purse last night, I remember it was your favorite," I went to opened my bag to see, "No, don't look yet. It's a surprise for when you get home." She smirked, swatting my hand away.
"Speaking of which, I should get going. See you, love." I sighed, hugging Hunter before walking back to my car. I looked at my reflection in the paint. Holy shit, I looked awful. My hair was matted, my makeup smeared, and my clothes were ratty and torn from sleeping on the old wooden floor.
---------------
Pulling up to the house, I took a deep breath. I was in deep shit with Chris.
After slowly walking to the front door and swinging it open, I put my head down and nearly sprinted to my bedroom, locking the door behind me.
"Katrina! Where the hell were you?!" I ignored Chris's voice as I peeled my clothes off of my tired skin. The high from my morning line had long since worn off and I was feeling the effects come crashing down on me. Every one of his words echoed in my mind, causing me to grimace.
I walked to the bathroom attached to my suit. Turning on the water, I let it heat up before stepping in and allowing it to wash off the filth and shame.
Afterwards, I threw my hair into a messy bun and slid on some clothes. Walking back to my bed, I finally unclasped my purse to see what Hunter had given me.
Inside rested a plastic bag containing six syringes with a small sticker that read "heroin". My heart began racing as the memories of the feeling it gave returned. Sighing, I opened the package and removed one of the syringes. I stood off my bed, walked to my dresser, and retrieved a belt. I then sat back down. Rolling up my sleeve, I slid the belt around the skin above my elbow and tied it tight with one end in between my teeth. It took a minute before the blue vein began to bulge to the surface for easy access. Once it had, I flicked the syringe before lining it up with my arm. Taking a deep breath, I plunged the needle into my skin and pushed down, injecting the drug into my blood stream. I dropped it to the floor.
My mind was soaring. A weight was lifted from my chest as the drug took over, burying my problems for the time being.
"Katrina! Come on!" I heard Chris's voice faintly shout from deep within my trance. I stumbled over to the door, struggling to unlock the knob before sliding it open. I pushed passed him and into the living room. I slumped down onto the couch, curling to sit cross legged. Chris came racing into the room.
"Are you going to tell us what happened?!" Us? Who's us? My head bobbed, I didn't have control enough to even keep my head upright, let alone form words. My eyes were fluttering. My heart was racing, the adrenaline pumping through my blood.
"Kat, are you okay?" An all too familiar voice questioned from beside me; Josh. My head lazily oscillated so he was in view. My eyes were now rolling back in my head and I felt my consciousness slipping.
"Chris, I think we need to take her to the hospital." Josh spoke quickly.
"N-no." I sputtered, giggling at him. I reached my hand up, gently taking his stretched ear in between my fingers. For some reason, in my current state, I found them rather amusing. Josh furrowed his eyebrows. "Is she...." He trailed off, shaking his head.
"FUCK!" Chris screamed. "Kat, you promised that was over!" He nearly whined, his voice cracking slightly.
"Chris, hospital?" Josh spoke urgently.
"No! They'll send her to jail again! We need to just wait 'til she comes down. We'll figure it out then." Chris spoke unsure, but firmly.
I couldn't fight the giggles that were escaping my lips. Everything was so much more pleasant when I was in this state. Chris sat beside me, pulling me into his chest. He rocked me gently back and forth, quietly sobbing.
"You p-promised." Chris whispered over and over again. My eyes began to droop and I felt my body slipping from consciousness.
The last thing I remember is the look of disappointment on Josh's face as he watched from beside us.
