"You need to go, April."
"Please, Jackson, just let me stay here. Just for the rest of the night, please, and then I'll leave in the morning right before you wake up. Please, just don't make me go home again," she almost begged, her eyes pleading.
"Fine," I said, sighing. "Just stay on your side of the bed."
With that, I closed my eyes and eventually fell asleep.
*I opened my eyes to see April still next to me.
I stared at her, letting my eyes flicker up and down her body that was buried under the sheets.
"April, wake up." I said, ripping the sheets off her body. "Get up."
"Five more minutes..." she mumbled.
"No, now, April!"
"Jackson, I... what time is it?" she asked, her eyes widening as she took in my annoyed state.
"April," I said, gritting my teeth, "you promised that you'd leave before I woke up. But you lied."
"I'm sorry, Jackson."
"I don't care, just get out." I said, shaking my head.
She nodded, her lower lip trembling as she tried to hold back the tears from streaming down her cheeks.
"Is that all you do?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "Cry?"
"Yeah, well," she said, wiping her cheeks. "You'd cry too if you found out that the boy you love didn't feel the same way, wouldn't you? And besides, I think you'd know, with what happened with Violet and all that. Isn't it true that she didn't even say she had feelings for you?"
She turned and walked out, slamming the door behind her.
