Chapter 5

Caroline's POV

I did not sleep very well last night, and I don't want to get up, but I do it anyways. Grabbing my phone and heading downstairs to grab a PopTart.

My phone lit up with a text from Faith:

Faith: Hey I'm back in town, wanna hangout?

Caroline: Yeah sure. What time?

Faith: 12:00pm sound good?

Caroline: sure, I'll come to your place, and we can go get food.

End of texts

I quickly eat my PopTart and go back up stairs into my room and get a shower.

After my shower I brush my teeth, put on light make up, and leave my hair naturally straight. I go into my closet and pick out a red and white plain baseball t-shirt and dark blue jean  short shorts with red vans.

I grab all my stuff and leave for her house, it's only a couple minutes away.

I hear someone open the door of my Jeep.

"Hey," my other best friend Faith said.
"Hey!" I give her a quick hug and then we leave to go get food.

We arrive at a small pizza parlor called Alex's pizza, and go inside. The guy at that takes our order looks around our age, seventeen, and had dirty blond hair. "Hi, I would like a large cheese pizza and an ice water."

Faith orders and we sit down in a booth."So how has your summer been so far?" She had been gone for 3 weeks and just got back yesterday.

A different guys shows up and brings our pizzas.

(A/N it's June 9th right now)

"Pretty good, Justin came back Tuesday and we spent the day together, but he kinda made plans with me and then ditched me two days in a row." I said, recalling back to our phone call last night.

"Aw, I'm sorry. He shouldn't have done that, I know you are disappointed." She's said sympathetically.

"Yeah, it just stinks because now that he's a singer, he always has stuff to do and we barely get to spend time together."

" I get what your saying." She replies.

"I miss him Faith."

"I know."

We finish eating and go to the mall to try and take my mind off of Justin. We shop for a long time and decide it's time to leave because we are both super tired.

"Bye girl, see you later! Text me!!" I said to Faith as she got out of my Jeep.

"Bye, see you girl!" She said. I pulled out of her driveway and left for home.

I turn in the driveway and notice that nobody is there. A frown appears on my face. Why do they always leave?

I get out and go inside. Slowly, I climb the steps to my room and change into a pair of Nike running shorts, a matching Nike Sports Bra, and tank top. (A/N Outfit above) I check my phone and see that it's 7:30.

I open the doors to my balcony and walk out. Holding onto the railing, I lookout over the balcony and see practically all of Atlanta. The Atlanta lights and sunset look gorgeous together.

"It's beautiful." A voice said from behind me. I don't have to turn around to know it's Justin.

I hear him get right behind me and feel his hot breath on my neck, making my breath hitch.

"Look at me Caroline." He said

I turn around and stare at him," What do you want Jay? Are you sure you don't have to go do a photo shoot, or an interview, or a concert, or something more important than me?"

"Caroline it isn't like that, I'm sorry. I can't help it. I want to spend time with you, I really do, but sometimes I have to go do stuff. I thought you knew that now." I look away from him.

"I do, but you promised we would make time for each other. I miss getting to hangout with you Justin," a tear silently rolls down my cheek, while I can feel his eyes burning a hole right into the side of my head. My voice gets quiet," Ever since Mom died You, Faith, and Dad are the only ones that are there for me," my voice quivers and turns into a whisper," She already left me Jay, I can't lose you too." Tears were now pouring down my face.

He grabs my waist and pulls me dangerously close to him. He looks straight into my eyes, while love and concern filled into his. I avoid his eyes looking anywhere but straight into them.

"Look at me Caroline."

I turn my face towards him and stare into his beautiful hazel eyes.

"You aren't going to lose me," he said, our faces now dangerously close to each other, and his voice turns to a soft whisper," I promise."

And then he does something I never thought he would ever do.

He closes the gap between us and gently presses his lips to mine. A tornado forms inside me, and makes my whole body full with electricity. I basically melt into his arms. The kiss fills with passion and love. Our lips start moving in sync and I instantly put my arms around his neck.

He runs his tongue across my bottom lip asking for entrance and I gladly grant it. My hands start running and tugging at his hair, earning a groan from him.

He pulls us even closer together than we already are, smashing any space that was between us. His hands start massaging my sides making a light noise come from my throat.

I don't want this to end but I become out of breath and he does too, so we both pull away. Both of us panting for air, because we are out of breath, but never letting go of one another.

I try to speak, but the words just won't come out of my mouth.

"I-" I start to say, but he interrupts me.

"I'm in love with you Caroline Elise Braun." I stand there, in complete and shock.
