Later that night, my father took us to Mr. Vortex's house. I was nervous to meet his family, but shook my head. I'm positive our family would make a impact on his.

Mr. Vortex greeted my father with a smile, and allowed us to come in. I followed behind my mother, scared and nervous.

My mother sat down on a leather couch, as I sat next to her. Mrs. Vortex was kind enough to accompany us.

"Ah Mary its so nice to see you, and my my...is this your daughter?" She asked. I looked over and smiled, offering a friendly handshake. "Mrs. Vortex thank you for allowing us in your lovely house...my name is Melody, pleasure to meet you."

Mrs. Vortex was obviously pleased with how I introduced myself, and instead of the handshake, she engulfed me in her arms. I accepted the hug, and after a while pulled away.

"Would you like to meet my son? He's upstairs in his room, I could call him down." She offered, knowing that her and my mother would be talking about old stuff.

"Oh no that won't be necessary, if I may ask, where is your restroom?" I tried to stay as polite as possible, and as soon as Mrs. Vortex showed me where it was, I thanked her, and entered, closing the door.

I looked at myself in the mirror, as it reflected a girl who was beautiful, and very stunning. I leaned my back against the wall, and let out a deep breath.

I glanced at myself once more, and shook my head, proceeding to open the door, a younger boy about my age stood there, a smirk plastered onto his face.

"What is your name?" He asked, his voice sent shivers down my spine. His voice was like an angels.

He looked at me, his mint eyes staring into mine. "M-melody.." I managed out. He smirked, and lifted my chin. "Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." Blood rushed up to my cheeks, tinting them a light pink.

He smiled, seeing as he successfully made me blush. "My name is Alex Vortex, but I go by the name...Snake Eyes." His husky voice was angelic, making my heart thump.

Alex leaned forward, his lips inches away from mine. I quickly put my hand in front of his luscious lips. "I-im sorry but I have no interest being in love with a man who just saw me and wants to kiss me."

Alex looked in shock, and his lips tryed to conjure up something to say. I spoke before him. "I'm not a toy." I gently pushed him away from me before walking away.

Everyone looked up at me, going silent. "My darling where have you been?" My mother asked me. Alex walked up next to me. "She and I were playing video games."

I didn't bother to look over, and kept walking down. After a while, dinner was served. I didn't even bother to take a glimpse at it, and the waiter took it away.

I held up my glass, inside was champagne. I stood up, getting everyone's attention. "I would personally like to thank Mr. And Mrs. Vortex for blessing us with their kind words and hospitality. Here's to the Vortex family."

After dinner, we said our goodbyes, and as for Alex he kept his eyes on me. I went up to him and held my hand out.

"I want you to have this..." I said softly. I placed a ring in his hand, and got into my family's limo. After that I fell into darkness.

Home Sweet Home.
