Akashi Seijuro: Meeting VI
One step closer.
---
You knew that something like this was going to happen. You just didn't expect that the situation would work in your favor. Currently, you were trapped in Ohana Gakuen's equipment room with none other than Akashi Seijuro. The players of Ohana Gakuen, in order to “even the odds” as they said, led Akashi into the equipment room and locked him in there. It just so happens that you had followed— no that's not right. It should be that it just so happens that you were in the area and witnessed the whole situation. They threw you into the same equipment room in order to stop you from calling for help.
“At least the equipment room is pretty cool compared to how it felt outside.” You thought, trying to stay positive. “What are we going to do? The match has probably started by now,” you subconsciously said out loud, hugging your knees. “Ah, crap.” You covered your mouth, looking away. “He probably thinks I'm some helpless girl now...”
“It doesn't matter,” Akashi says, his words catching your attention. “It has already been decided that Teiko will be victorious.” His being radiated with confidence— or, rather, instead of confidence, perhaps the correct word was certainty. For a moment, he seemed intimidating to you.
“How can you be so sure?” you ask.
“Because,” he says, glancing over to you, “I am absolute. I can see the entirety of the future.*”
You could only stare at him for that while. “Could it be?” You suddenly remembered Akashi's data from the notes that Momoi had given you. “He is able to use his emperor's eye to such an extent?” You stared in awe. It was shocking that the possibility of such a thing would even exist. “You look pretty certain,” you said, “I wish I could watch the match and confirm your predictions.”
“It's a shame that you won't be able to— your duties as the temporary manager end this week, is that correct?”
“Right. And with so many exams coming up, I have to keep studying, while making sure I get good scores in the mock exams at cram school.” You sighed. “It sucks being a third year. I probably won't be able to show up to any of the games you guys play,” you said. “I really wanted to see Akashi-kun play too,” you say, mumbling, “Your abilities sounded the most interesting out of everyone's data in Momoi's notes— ah.” You covered your mouth. You were so absorbed in the conversation that you had forgotten who you were speaking to. You tried to look as not-flustered as possible. “Sorry... I hope I didn't cross the line there.”
“I don't mind,” Akashi said. It might have been due to the lack of light playing a trick on your eyes, but it looked as if he was satisfied. Actually, was he smiling? You quickly fixed your gaze firmly at the floor, not wanting him to see your face.
“Oh, god... His smiling face... This is NOT good for my heart at all!” You nervously glanced back and forth at him and the ground. “E-Either way! We need to get you out of here. You're the captain after all... So, it wouldn't look too good if you don't show up at all.” You began stacking up the exercising mats one on top of the other.
“I thought it was already established that there was no way out of here... What are you doing?”
“Some of the tiles on the roof are loose. You could probably make an opening if you move some of the tiles away.” You explained. He gives you a suspicious look. “Oh, uh... I noticed all that just a while ago.” It was a lie.
