Kat's P.O.V.
I shifted on the uncomfortable, crinkly bed I was laying in. Where am I? I opened my eyes and I blinked at the bright lights that flooded my vision. There were yellow walls and a red boarder, but I couldn't remember how I got into this room.
I sat up and coughed into my elbow, and noticed that I was in a white and teal surgery gown. Why would I be in a surgery gown? What happened last night? I remembered flashes of last night, but I couldn't follow anything. I remember being locked out of my apartment, talking to Chief, walking to my room in the hospital, and....the rest is a blur.
"Ah. You're up. I'm glad you've finally awoken, you've been out for about a day now." My eyes darted to the corner of the room, where a man was seated in a blue chair. He had light brown hair, caramel eyes and rectangular glasses. He wore a doctor's coat and a blue scrubs underneath with the Caduceus embroidered in gold thread on the chest.
"Um..." I trailed off, not knowing who this guy was.
"Oh! Excuse me, you must be wondering who I am. Well, I'm Derek Stiles, I work at Caduceus U.S.A. and I specialize in unknown diseases and strange outbreaks. Last night we received a call saying that a doctor collapsed for an unknown cause, and when being operated on, the disease was unidentified. I was sent to check on you and, if givin permission by yourself and Resurgum, to have you come back to our center in California."
I didn't know what to say to Derek, this was all so much to take in. I had no idea that I had collapsed last night, and to discover that I have an unidentified disease, it's just so...shocking.
"When I recover, if I were to go with you, I will not be treated like a patient. I'm a doctor, and whatever this disease is, once it's cured, I will save lives again, understand?" My voice was clear and Derek nodded his head in agreement.
"Said like a true doctor. Now, Kat is it?" When I nodded he continued, "Well, Kat, you can consider yourself a part of the staff of Caduceus U.S.A."
A grin broke out onto my face and I shoved the sheets of my legs and stood.
"Well Dr. Derek Stiles, when do I leave?"
