Warning: Bucky being a lil bit of a ho and a cute bean
Word count: 1044Jealous? That's once way to put it. Enraged felt more appropriate. His blue eyes danced from one girl to another, fully knowing of your feelings towards him. You sat in the diner, picking at your food. With Steve by your side, it made things a little easier. A little. You still felt the bubbling anger for any girl that fell into Bucky Barnes's arms.
"(Y/n)? You okay?" Steve asked, poking your arm.
"I'm fine." You lied, pushing your food away.
"That's not true. What's wrong?" He prodded.
"Your friend is what's wrong. Why is it that every week he has a new girl on his arm?" You asked, looking at him.
"And you're upset because you want to be one of those girls...?" He hesitated, not wanting to make you more angry.
"Who doesn't? But, it doesn't make the situation any better. He just throws them all away, then upgrades each week. It's disgusting." You said, swigging your drink. He nodded, not knowing how to deal with girl problems.
"Speak of the devil." He muttered. You turned around to see him with a new girl, yet again. This one had blonde hair and annoyingly bright lipstick. You rolled your eyes and turned around, ordering another drink. You heard Bucky's steps draw nearer, but you ignored them. You felt a light tap and turned around.
"This is Madeline. Madeline, I told you about (y/n)." He said, introducing you two. You reached your hand out to shake, and she looked at your hand as if it was infected. "She doesn't do handshakes." You scoffed and turned to Steve.
"I'm outta here. I'll see you tomorrow, Stevie." You said. You quickly pecked his cheek, earning blushes from him. You stole a look at Bucky, who was almost fuming. You smirked to yourself, liking that you had gotten him jealous for once. You quickly walked out, right after you payed for the meal. Outside on the sidewalk, Bucky had followed you.
"You and Rogers a thing now?" He asked, tugging on your sleeve.
"Is that any of your business?" You snapped, yanking your arm from his grasp. He seemed taken aback by your sudden hostility.
"Kinda. That's my best friend. And you're my-"
"I'm your what?" You snarled. "Certainly not your friend by the way you've been acting. It's none of your business what or if there is anything going on between me and Steve. Get that through your thick skull, Barnes. Now get back to your bubblegum snappin' broad, I don't have time for this." His jaw was clenched with fury as he let you walk away from him. You felt silent tears roll down your cheeks, but wiped them away hastily. When you got home, you wanted to do nothing but cry.
*Time Skipity Skip*
Ever since that night, you had been getting some serious glares from Bucky. Whenever Steve touched you, his grimace would thicken, no matter who he was with. You smiled at Steve, glad to have a friend like him. Many people in town thought you were dating, but you two were like siblings. Teasing each other and giggling away.
"(Y/n)..." Steve warned.
"What?" But you already knew, Bucky had had enough.
"What do you think you're doing?" He growled at the both of you. You spun your stool around to see a red and furious Bucky. You stood up and walked outside, not wanting to make a scene in the diner. He followed you, still waiting for an answer. "Well? What the hell is going on?" He yelled.
"Excuse me?" You said, standing your ground.
"You heard me. Why're you all over Rogers?" He snapped.
"Well we're just friends. Plus, it isn't your business." You said, already exhausted by this conversation.
"Do you have any idea what it does to me?" He asked, his eyes softening.
"What it does to you?! You know damn well that I've loved you since third grade and yet you find it necessary to waltz around with a new tramp in your arm every week? You know what that does to me? Tears me apart. But the great James Buchannan Barnes can't be bothered." You screamed. You had finally said it, and he sat there with nothing but pure shock on his face. "We done here? Because according to you, I gotta get back to bangin your best friend." You retorted. Girls never talked like that, but, you didn't care. You shoved past him and walked back into the diner, sitting back next to Steve.
"So he thinks we're-"
"Yup." You said, sipping your water. He stood up abruptly and walked out to Bucky. You had had enough boy drama for one day, so you started to get up. Instead of going out the front, you snuck through the door out of the kitchen. You were going to go home, but you couldn't help but eavesdrop.
"She said that?" You heard Steve ask.
"Every word. She's pissed."
"Wow no way! She has a point. Get your head out of your ass, Barnes. We both know she's a keeper." You were surprised to hear Steve talk like that. You were around the corner from them, listening to everything. "And to think that I would ever do anything with (y/n) is absurd. You've had feelings for her forever." What? You heard Bucky go back into the diner, only to come out seconds later.
"She's gone." He sighed.
"She's probably at home or making her way to it. Go catch her, Buck." You sprinted down the street, making it seem like you had gone further. You were near your house when you heard Bucky running towards you and yelling your name.
"(Y/n)! Wait!" You stopped and looked at him, trying to act surprised.
"What, Bucky?" You sighed. He got closer to you, and your breath caught. His hand gently held your cheek as your heart rate sped up.
"I'm sorry." He said, pressing his lips to yours. His lips interlocked with yours, as the feeling of pure happiness spread throughout your body. You had been waiting for this for ages. You broke away, with your foreheads still pressed together
"I forgive you."
