Word Count: 1081You stormed into the meeting room, face red with anger. "Where is he?" You demanded from the group. Everyone looked at you, obviously nervous.
"He just left." Natasha said, standing up.
"That was my mission!" You yelled, slapping the table and leaving a dent.
"(y/n), stop being a baby." Tony said, fumbling with his metal toys.
"You know that was my mission, Tony. He knew too, he knew I wanted that mission so I-"
"So you could what? See a possible sliver of family you have left? You don't have any left!" Tony yelled, getting fed up with your attitude. You felt the tears coming, and you quickly fled the room. It was true, word had come out that there was a sighting of your sister.
"Tony!" You heard Natasha yell. You could almost hear Tony shrugging. You hadn't heard anything from your family in over seven years, and the fact that there had been a sighting of your sister was astounding. Ever since HYDRA had supposedly wiped out your whole family to get to you, you had been with SHIELD. You could never understand why Hydra would want you, until you accidentally crushed a titanium shield that was being tested for you. You picked it up on it's rim, and your fingers sank into it like sand. Apparently, you had been injected with an experimental serum when you were young, and it festered over time. Hydra tried to get to you when they realized that the serum would eventually affect you. Anyone that stood in their way was killed, and those people were your parents. You had lost track of where your sister was, as the you two had split up when you were hiding. You hadn't heard of her since, until a few days ago.
You heard Natasha's footsteps behind you, and she quickly caught up to you. "(y/n)? He didn't mean that." Natasha said, putting her hand on your shoulder.
"We both know he meant it. It's true, anyways." You shrugged, knowing the likelihood of your sister being alive was slim.
"You don't know that. Why can't you let Steve take this one? Especially if it was a cover up by Hydra to get you back." She replied.
"Fine, but I think that someone should have told me. At the very least, I should've been able to talk to Cap before he left." I whined, making my way to the training room.
"Stop crying about it, (y/n). He'll be back soon enough with more news. In the meantime, we have to try to control your strength." You and Natasha had been training so that you could learn to control your strength when in SHEILD. Apart from other agents, you had to focus on picking up small things like glasses, not learning to fight. There was a table full of glasses of water, dishes, wine bottles, and flowers.
"Are you sure I can do this? I've only been training for a month." You said, looking back at her.
"Just try." You took a deep breath and wiggled your fingers out of nerves. Silently, you reached your hand out and picked up a glass of water. Natasha started the stopwatch, and you held back every urge to crush it. It made your hand feel like it was going to explode, and your head hurt. Eventually, the glass shattered when you moved your fingers. "Thirty seconds, new record. Try the flower." You picked up the flower and held it in between your thumb and forefinger. You felt your thumb inch closer to your forefinger, wanting nothing more than to crumple the stem. You could feel the wetness of the inside of the stem. You felt the stem crush, and your fingers were now touching. "Twenty eight."
You went through the rest of the objects, and your best time was forty five seconds. It was hard for you to control how strong you are, so you couldn't really touch anyone other than Banner when he's hulked out or Thor. Even then, they would wince. You didn't allow yourself to touch anyone else, you couldn't forgive yourself if you hurt someone. You were about three times stronger than Steve, and as strong as the Hulk. You walked into the elevator, and went to living floor of the tower. Clint was on the couch, watching something stupid on the TV. You didn't glance at him as you walked by, as you two weren't close. You got to your room and collapsed into the bed. You glanced at the clock, and it was only eight. You had nothing else to do but to sleep.
You woke up to the noises of people cheering and yelping, and you slowly got up to see what this was all about. You carefully opened the door, trying not to break the doorknob. It was Steve, he was back. You could hear his laugh. Oh, you were ready to beat his ass.
"Steven Grant Rogers!" You screamed, barreling into the living area. His face turned pale, but everything stopped when you saw her.
"Abby!" You yelled, running towards your sister.
"(Y/n)?" She asked, throwing her arms around you. You felt the tears come, and you were sobbing out of happiness. You wrapped your arms around her protectively, never wanting to let go. You heard some sniffles come from around the room, and you realized something. Just as you did, so did Natasha.
"(Y/n), how are you not hurting her?" She asked.
"I-I don't know." You sniffled. You broke away from her and saw her eyes were red from crying as well.
"Did she learn to control it?" Tony asked.
"Maybe she just had to calm down." Banner suggested.
"It's not like she gets angry then crushes shit."
"Wait, why would she hurt me?" Abby said, her voice still horse from crying.
"I have this strength problem, and I can't control it. If I pick up a glass, I can only hold it for so long before it shatters. And yet, I could hug you and you didn't get hurt." She nodded and looked back at Cap.
"I never got to thank you. Thank you so much for bringing her to me." You looked down at your little sister who was about 7 years younger than you.
"No problem, (y/n). But next time, try not to get so pissed."
