"What the hell happened to you last night?" a frantic Katie greeted me when I stumbled into our room early the next morning.

"The party was boring, I went somewhere else," I said vaguely hoping she wouldn't ask more questions.

"Where? And where did you sleep?" she persisted.

"I was with some friends," I said shrugging out of my dirty clothes and into a comfy pair of pajamas. I couldn't wait to plop into bed and sleep for the rest of the day. The ecstasy I took last night had prevented me from getting any sleep.

"What friends? You don't have any other friends besides the people who went with us to the party," she said incredulously.

"I do have other friends!" I protested.

"Did you hook up with someone?" she asked.

"No, leave me alone. I didn't get any sleep and I'm tired," I groaned.

"Yeah you didn't get any sleep because you were having sex all night!" she said, and before I could protest she added, "Don't even try to deny it. I can see the hickey on your neck."

"So what? Am I not allowed to be around boys, mom," I mumbled into my pillow.

"No...I mean, it's just that you've been, uh, seeing a lot of guys lately," she said in attempt to put it politely.

"Are you calling me a slut?"

"Wha—? No! No, I just want to make sure everything is okay. I know you're still upset about the break up but I don't want you to feel like you need a rebound or anything," she stumbled over her words.

"I am not upset about the break up. This conversation is over and I'm going to sleep."

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

"Turn that shit off," I moaned and rolled over in bed. The buzzing sound continued and it was pissing me off. "Katie, answer your phone!"

My plea was met with silence. I opened my eyes just enough to see that the room was empty, and that it was, in fact, my phone that was making the horrendous sound.

"The fuck do you want?" I answered groggily.

"What a lovely ray of sunshine you are today," a familiar voice that I recognized but couldn't quite place laughed. I pulled the phone away from my ear to look at the screen and saw an unfamiliar number.

"Who is this?" I asked.

"Matty," the voice said.

"And you're calling me this early because?" I yawned, reaching up to rub some of the sleep from my eyes.

"Early?" he laughed again. "It's nearly 7 in the evening, love."

"What? But how..." I was confused for a moment until I realized that I had slept through the whole day.

"Did something keep you up last night?" he asked trying to sound all innocent and what not, but I knew he was alluding to the drugs or the sex as the reason I was up all night.

"What do you want other than to piss me off first thing when I wake up?" I asked.

"Guess you're not a morning person then?"

"It's nearly 7 in the evening," I mimicked what he had just told me moments before.

"Smartass. Anyway, I got some more blow if you're interested," he said finally cutting to the chase.
