Sofie's POV:
Waking up from the loud ringing of my alarm going off on the bedside table beside me, I let out a groan while adjusting to being awake. Rubbing my eyes and sitting up in bed, it didn't take me long until I eventually got myself up and out of bed. Wrapping a dressing gown the way around my body before heading to the kitchen to make myself a little something to eat.
But upon entering inside the sweet smell of brewing coffee and bacon erupted my nostrils, a smile of satisfaction upon me. "Morning sleepy head." My brother Sven smiled at me, with a plate of a bacon sandwich in his hand while placing it down with the other on the table. "So, judging by that expression." He nodded to my face. "I take it you're hungry, am I right yes?"
"Oh it's like you read my mind Sven." Chuckling as I sat down, I picked up the mug of coffee I could see had been for me and sipped on it. "Thank you so much, you didn't have to do it."
"Don't be silly." He smiled, taking a seat opposite me. "I thought you needed to get as much energy in you as possible ahead of your big day." Watching my brother shrug as he spoke, it was in that moment where I looked at him confused, not understanding what he meant by it if I'm honest. "I mean surely today's the day you'll tell your boss about the opportunity no?"
Groaning and rolling my eyes at my brother's words, I bit into my bacon sandwich all while I sighed also. "Oh don't remind me, please." Not caring that my mouth was full as I spoke too.
"Please." He held his hand out in front of him and at me, grimacing at the sight. "Please, just don't talk with your mouthful again ok? It's disgusting." I smirked at his words and shook my head, laughing as I went on to continue eating again. "But relax about today, I'm sure it'll be fine ok? I can see from the look across your face that you're stressing, you have no need to."
"Trust me Sven." I paused, looking up at him and wiping my mouth with a tissue. "If you did know my boss as much as I do, then you'll understand the reason why I'm stressing so bad."
"Oh yeah?" He narrowed his eyes, tucking into his food. "Then please explain."
"Let's just say that he won't like the idea of me travelling to another country for a couple of months and leaving him, he wants me at the office to help with everything." I shrugged. "If I am completely honest with you though, it's so tiring working under his feed all the time."
"Oh I can imagine, completely." Sven hummed, looking at me as he spoke. "What he needs to understand is that this is part of your job, the whole point of you being in this industry is to go around to different parts of the world if needs be to do things like this." I agreed with all Sven was saying, he was speaking the truth. "Not to be cooped up in an office all day."
"I guess you're right." I nodded, smiling a little. "Anton can't be too mad at me over this, at the end of the day this is my job, it's what pays bills. So he can't be mad at me over that."
"Exactly." Sven smiled at me, taking a sip of his coffee before going on again. "So relax, it'll all be ok Sofie, I'm sure of it." I felt a wave of relief flood through me after all Sven had said to me, and directed a smile over towards him. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime for you."
"And there's no way I'm going to let anyone get in my way, not even my boss." I uttered.
"But it won't come to that, I'm sure Anton will understand why you're doing this." I nodded my head as my brother spoke, finishing my sandwich soon after and taking a sip of coffee.
"Thanks for this Sven, I really appreciate it." I smiled. "You always put my mind at ease."
"That's because you worry too much sometimes, over things which shouldn't matter." Then to let a small chuckle come from his lips, I couldn't help but laugh along. "And I'm your older brother." I groaned at that, due to him only being older by a matter of minutes. "I'll always be here for you, to put your mind at ease in situations like this. No matter how crazy it is."
