"Rick go away!" Kate yelled from behind the bedroom door. Kate locked the door so Rick couldn't get in. "Kate please just talk to me. What's going on? Why are you so upset? What did I do?" He asked. She slowly opened the door half way making sure he still couldn't go in. "Don't you dare say you don't know." She said with tears starting to form in her eyes. "Take a look at this." She was holding the newspaper that read 'Rick Castle cheating on fiancé with his ex wife.' There was a picture of him and Gina in which Rick was kissing her on the cheek and another picture of them out to dinner in a restaurant. She then threw it at him. "You've been acting weird for weeks and now I know why. Were you really going to meetings? Or were you going to meet Gina? You know what? I don't care. It's over. We're done. Take this stupid ring back." She said before taking the engagement ring off her finger and throwing it at him. "I can't believe I was so stupid to think you loved me. I really thought you were my 'one and done.' But I was wrong. You never really changed. You're still the same man I arrested 5 years ago. You're still a player and I'm done with you." Kate opened the bedroom door all the way and starting walking to the front door. "Wait, Kate. Let me explain. Just listen to what I have to say." He said, pulling her arm. She pulled away. "Listen to you? Are you serious? I'm not going to believe a word you say. All the times you said you loved me, you were lying. All the times you said you'd be there for me, you were lying-" he cut her off by saying, "I wasn't lying. I do love you and I have been there for you. I love you so much Kate." "Don't you dare say you love me because you don't. If you did, you wouldn't have cheated on me." "Kate please believe me when I tell you, I didn't cheat on you." "Stop lying to me!" She screamed, tears rolling down her cheeks like a waterfall. "You never cared about me. I have to get out of here. I'm leaving. We are done!" She yelled and grabbed her jacket out of the closet. "I'll send for my things." She said as she opened the door. Rick ran after to her and put his hand on the door so she couldn't leave. "I am not cheating on you. I have been going to meet with Gina about my upcoming book." Kate rolled her eyes. "Then why were you kissing her and having a very nice dinner with her." Rick didn't say anything. "Right, that's what I thought. You have been cheating on me. Good bye Rick." She said and removed his hand from the door and left slamming it.

"Richard, what was all that about?" Martha asked after Kate left. "Have you been cheating on Kate?" He didn't say a word. "Oh my god! What is wrong with you? Why would you do such a thing? I thought you loved each other." Again no answer. "Tell me why." She said sternly. "Alright fine. Well when Gina and I went to dinner to discuss the upcoming book, she started talking about 'us' and she told me she made a huge mistake and wanted to start over. She wanted another chance. Old flames never really go away." "What is wrong with you? Kate was your fiancé. It doesn't matter what Gina said. I can't believe you would do that to Kate. She was so good for you. She fit so well in the family. I am so angry with you right now. Just think about what you did. You just lost an amazing woman who loved you so much. How could you just break her heart like that?" She said and walked away from him. 

Meanwhile, Kate was on her way to a hotel, seeing as she had sold her apartment because she moved into the loft. Once she arrived she checked into the hotel. After she got her things settled in her room, she called her father. "Daddy?" She said, with her voice starting to crack. "What's wrong Katie?" He asked hating the fact she was upset. "Something terrible happened today and I just really need you. I'm at the Marriott hotel." "Alright I'm on my way. Whatever it is, it's going to be okay." After they hung up, Kate felt nauseous. She went in the bathroom and got sick. "Alright Kate. It's nothing. You're just upset. You have just cried too much today." She said looking at herself in the mirror. After splashing some water on her face, she brushed her teeth. She changed into sweats and a t shirt and waited for her father to come. About 20 minutes later, Jim showed up. Right after she opened the door, she went right into his arms and tears started falling again. "Shh. Shh. It's going to be okay. I'm right here." He rubbed her back. Once she stopped crying, they sat down on the couch. "Tell me what happened." He said. "You haven't read the paper?" He shook his head. She took a deep breath. "Rick cheated on me." Kate could see the anger in Jim's eyes. "What makes him think he can just hurt you like that and get away with it?!" He said getting up and walked to the door. "I'm going to go see him." Kate stood up. "No daddy please don't. Please stay here. I need you." "Alright Katie but tomorrow he is going to get a piece of my mind."
