The beginning: Kurtis

:2 weeks earlier: I was half awake and half asleep as I lay quietly on my bed that was until my dog Lorli began to push me off the bed for food, I let her roll me around for a while before I finally got up, Ember had come to mind as I got a scoop of dog food from the bag and poured it into her bowl, Ember hadn't been having the best of times and Lorli might enjoy some time outside and it seemed to be pretty nice outside the next few days. "Yup" I said out loud Lorli looked at me wondering what I meant, "Lets go camping it's been a while hasn't it Lorli" she smiled and knocked me to the floor in a quick rush, we wrestled around I bit before I got up and began to pack. After about two hours of packing I had gotten just about everything into the trailer, Lorli glared at me and hinted at her bag of food as I just about forgot to put it in the trailer, Such a spoiled dog.

:Present: Ember began to curl up into a ball for a second and started to shiver, I had then noticed the A.C. was on but I wasn't going to go change it she enjoyed a colder house, it took me a bit to decide on what to do until she straightened herself out again and scooted closer to me, my heart began to go quicker but I couldn't slow it down, after a bit of her struggling she was about a foot away and balled up again landing on me, my insides shut down and I couldn't think all I knew is a cute girl was laying on my leg and she was half asleep. It took a while but I finally calmed down a bit making sure not to move an inch, in my opinion this is when a girl is deadly when there asleep and on you, one wrong move can make something look wrong and can get you killed, I looked down once more and all I saw on her face was a slim smile that was until someone knocked at the door. She woke up a little drowsy and stood up, I stopped her and went to answer the door were a guy who seemed pretty well shaved and positioned stood, 'I bet it's another person for the house' I thought to myself he began to speak but it was a raspy voice, "Hello mind if I come in" I welcomed him in a little more cautiously than before, as he walked in I noticed a gun in his back pocket with the safety off and what looked like a full clip. He walked around for a little bit after tucking his shirt over the gun, being me I keep a gun and at least a pocket knife with me at all times so for a precaution I kept my hand over the gun, "So what are you doing here" Ember looked around with a ticked face he looked up from a vase and replied "Just seeing how much this house is worth" Ember looked at him with suspicion "Someone checked the house not to long ago" she said grudgingly. The man seemed a little freaked out by the statement and put his hand were the gun used to be, as soon as I heard a small click I raised my gun. "Put down the gun" I yelled Ember looked terrified, the man slowly picked up the gun and put it to the side with a small grin, he dropped the gun but Ember shrieked and started chucking things at the door, I moved to her angle to notice another guy being barraged by glass vases and fruits. I kept my gun aimed at the first guy and was ready to throw my knife at the second one, I told Ember to get behind a couch and stay there while the second guy began to walk through the door, he pulled out a gun and nearly pulled the trigger, 'The idiot turned his safety on before walking in here about to shoot' I snickered a bit and threw the knife at his arm. Blood began to seep down the forearm like a stream of water as the guy screamed and dropped the gun. I cringed a bit and turned around to notice the first guy was reaching for the gun, I wasn't in the mood for a game so I shot at the floor near the gun for a warning and smacked him on the spine with the clip of the gun, he stuttered a bit as I grabbed the gun, "Hey man how about we play this fair and I walk back out to the car and go vroom vroom home." I didn't believe him for a second but I let him pass by. Ember poked back out from the couch and walked across the room cautiously, "What the hell happened to your arm I looked down to see the glass from the vases was in my skin, I turned around hoping she didn't notice that it was from her and began to rip out the glass shards putting them in my pocket. "Here take this the guy said he would go vroom vroom home but I bet there is a stash in his car so if anyone knocks just shoot, I walked to her bathroom and grabbed a few bandages wrapping them around my arm, that was until I heard a gunshot. I ran out of the room as she stood frozen in fear of what she did, there was a hole in the door as a guy in a black suit fell over, 'It can't be they left' I thought to myself as I walked to the door, I turned the knob to notice one of the two guys that had walked into her house earlier in the day. She fell down for a second and looked like she was going to throw up, I looked around and noticed the other guy sitting in his car on the phone, "Ember grab you stuff and lets get out of here.", she stumbled to her feet and ran to her room it took less than a minute to walk back out with a bag of stuff she must have got my message for the camping trip, we ran out to the started car Lorli popped her head out the window happily to see Ember for the first time. The guy in the car began to scoot over to the driver seat but ran out of the car to the dead body, 'he must have the keys' I took advantage and drove off into the mountain ranges nearby and kept a look out for everything.
