Chapter 1: Devasted Worlds

Kaneki's POV...

Everything all happens fast, as the ghoul, we're missioned to kill, pushed me inside in a unknown machine and lock me in from the outside. I heard Ayato's yells as he succeeded on killing the ghoul and ended up rushing towards the machine I was trapped in.
Ayato tried almost anything to get me out. To a simple pull till he use brutal force on using his ukaku, but it didnt bodge to open or at least a simple crack.

I tried using my kagune, in hopes to pierce it from the inside. But it didnt. It was as hard as our kagune. From the inside, I heard
Ayato's assuring words, he said that he'll call for help and ran off as fast as he could, leaving me to wait for him.

While waiting, I tried pushing some unknown buttons as my curiousity took the better of me. Most didnt work and I thought that theres no way for a eject button to work, especially how to open this tight sealed door. I saw a blue and red button but in the corner of my eye, I spotted a purple button, at the leftside of the blue button. I hesitated for a bit, but I ended up pushing it.

Just seconds after thinking that it wont work, the machine I was in started to act up and shake around. The old webby gears are turning, accompanied with a steaming noise from who knows where. And before I could do anything to stop this, an purple hue aura started to fill up the outside. And zip...I was gone along with the machine I was in.

Protecting myself by using my four kagune to turn myself into a slight ball, I was shock by the noise of a crash. Or should I say the machine that I was in crash landed on the place I dont know of. Bouncing and getting a bit hurt by the impact, I uncurled my kagunes around me and dissolve them.
With this, I lay there, giving up hope that I'll never get out of this thing.

Just then, a sound of something opened just reached my ears. Turning towards it, I saw the unbreakable door opening. Seeing this with my eyes wide open, I rushed outside feeling the wonderful air in a breeze. I finally got out of that cage like machine!

But then, in the middle of my 'jail break' celebration, I saw my new surroundings quite unravelling. It was devasted. Burning things everywhere, a pile of rotted corpse scattered around the city.
It was too much for me.

Did an outburst of war did this? How? How was this possible? Just now, everything was normal in Tokyo even for the ghouls killing existence, even the time how we rushed to kill that ghoul.

Could I have...Could I have traveled in time? Or am I in a different dimension?? The first one seemed reasonable but the second one could be an option. Well anyways, instead of trying to figure out about this, I should at least find a clue of what year am I now...

Trying to keep my lust around the dead unlucky stray corpses, I tried looking around for a newspaper or at least a phone or even any records of what time or year I was transported to. I didnt succeed, however, I heard a shout. A human shout. Instincts, I followed around every corners till I found a man. I finally found a survivor! I was very happy to see someone. With this, I can finally ask what the date is today!

But as the man saw me, he ran in the opposite direction. I wondered why but now I remembered. I was wearing my mask. Knowing this, I quickly took off my mask and ran towards the man with a shout, "wait! I just want to ask you about-"

Just then, the man I was chasing was suddenly got stabbed by a black and white bear and no..Its not a panda. How can it, if it has a long sharp claws? Its like a polar opposite of a half white innocent bear and the other half of a evil black bear with red eye. It kept on stabbing the man, even though it already died from the impact. From afar to where I stood, I was shocked by this sudden events. I dont know what to do in this situation. I was left there in question.
