Kelley's POV

"NATHAN WATCH OUT!"

He looked over at the SUV and slammed the breaks but it was too late. The car was spinning uncontrollably and Nathan was silent. I was trying to hold on to whatever I could and trying to catch my breath. My heart was pounding, all I was thinking about was making it out alive. The car stopped and whoever hit us was long gone. I look over to Nathan and he is sitting still trying to catch every breath he could. Blood was rushing out of his thigh and I hear someone come out of their house asking if we're okay.

"Help us please!" I cry

I hear a woman telling some one to call 911 and I hear a man telling someone to help us out the car.

"Nathan are you okay?" I ask worried. He shook his head no trying to distract himself from the pain.

"Somebody get a belt and a towel!" I hear the woman say

"We're gonna pull you out okay?" She says

Nathan agrees.

They open the door and pull him out "1...2...3" Somebody helped me.out but I was fine I just bumped my head.

When they came out with the belt and towel they must've been trying to pressure point Nathan's wound to stop the bleeding. When they started wrapping the belt around Nathan's leg I heard ambulance sirens, I look up and I see 4 paramedics coming our way. They put Nathan on the little bed and they come over to me and direct me to the ambulance. Not soon after, the police came and the woman who was sitting on her porch told them what happened and gave the police the license plate number. The paramedics took my vitals to see if I was really okay, and I asked them where he was and they pointed me to the other ambulance. I asked if they were going to take him in and they told me that they were so I asked to ride with him to the hospital.

While in the ambulance the paramedics were doing everything they could to stop the bleeding but he lost so much blood it would be impossible.

"I feel cold." Nathan said as he was gasping for breaths.

"Don't worry we're gonna get you out of this." I say as I hold his hand tightly.

As they were trying to stop the bleeding we heard a steady beep. Nathan's heart stop beating, panic rushed all through me as I watched my bestfriend die right in my arms. I had to let his hand go because they were going to use the defibrillator to try to make his heart pump again.

"Clear." He shocked Nathan's chest. I cried at the sight of seeing his body charge up like that I couldn't watch.

Their first attempt didn't work.

"Clear." They pumped his chest again. It didn't work

I started to cry because I lost the only person in the world who really knew me. I couldn't imagine not having him in my life. He would always brighten someone's day no matter how bad they were feeling.

"Clear." I heard the paramedic say.

Nathan's heartbeat had returned and they put an oxygen mask on his face, he was passed out.

We get to the hospital and they were rushing him into the ICU, I couldn't come along so they made wait in the waiting room. I go to the bathroom to try to get myself together and while I was looking in the mirror, Derrick had come out of one of the stalls.

"Oh my God Derrick? What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I'm visiting my grandma she had knee replacement surgery, why are you here?"

"I just got into a car accident Nathan was hurt really bad."

"Wow, are you guys okay?" Derrick asks.

"I'm good, Nathan's losing a lot of blood though."

I continue the conversation on the way out the bathroom and I pull out my phone to distract myself from the situation.

"No cell phones." The nurse says.

Derrick had to leave and he wished me the best for Nathan so I was stuck waiting for a doctor to give me some kind of news. I ended up falling asleep and had a dream that Nathan didn't make it. It was terrible I was so grief stricken I've never cried that hard. I went into a deep state of depression became addicted to drugs and died. I jumped up so fast and saw a doctor coming over to me so I stood up.

"Doctor please tell me he's going to be okay." I say

"He's going to be just fine but he will have to undergo surgery to get all the glass out of his thigh."

"Okay, can I see him?" I ask.

"No not yet we just suggest you go home and get some rest, he's okay.

"Um.. okay, how?"

"We'll call a cab for you the ride is free."

I thank him and walk outside and sit on the bench and wait for the cab to take me home.

"God please make sure he's okay" I say as I put my head in my hands and wait.
