Your POV
I held back another tear as I watched the most important person in my life, slowly leave me.
He writhed and cursed on the dirty hospital bed. His face was drained of life.
The crimson color drained from the spot on his lower torso and onto the white sheets.

He reached to grab something around him, to distract him from the growing pain in his stomach. I quickly reached for is hand and squeezed it, taking a glance at his face. Only making me sob more. Everyone else was out, running around the building trying to find supplies to heal him. But the more he screamed made me realize that he was already leaving. His hand was cold, and pale.

He stopped squirming for a moment, only to look at my face. His chest was still rising, then dropping. "I, I'm gonna be fine." He said, through heavy breaths. He squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them. More drops fell from my eyes, as the bed sheets turned from white to dark red. He tried his hardest to stop squirming again, to give me a reassuring smile.
I rested my head on his chest, careful to not touch the wound.

"Gosh you're brave." I muttered, I couldn't see his face, but I knew he was smiling. "Yeah that, and a little stupid." I felt myself smile, hearing his voice for possibly the last time. "I'm not gonna die." He said, his voice was quiet and shaky. I lifted my head off his chest, staring into his eyes. "They'll be back with supplies soon." I said, not completely believing my own words. I took another glance at the door, hoping someone would be back soon.

I sniffled, wiping my face off with my sleeve. I looked at Ben, then his wound. I slowly lifted the cloth that covered it, but was now drenched in red, taking a look at it and immediately regretting it. He hissed, lifting his body off the table again, I pushed his chest back down. "Stay still, Ben." He clenched his teeth together, digging his nails into the cushion of the bed. I applied more pressure to it, in attempt to keep it from bleeding, but it only made Ben scream more.

I leaned closer to his face, placing my hand over his mouth, hoping he would keep quiet. "Shh, we can't make ourselves known, Ben." He nodded, but I continued to cover his mouth. I placed a soft kiss to his cheek. I felt him smile under my hand. I then replaced my hand with my own lips, planting a kiss to his blue lips.
I felt his body relax a bit. It was like everything was complete, all the broken pieces were now together. I've waiting six years for that kiss. I pulled away and smiled at him.

"I was supposed to kiss you first," he says, and I laugh, "and I was hoping it would be a different setting." I roll my eyes. Ben and I had always been together, but not like that. He knew I had a crush on him, and I knew he was interested in me a bit. But he cared about me more than anything.

We were friends before the waves, best friends even. Me, Ben, and Cassie. We met in the first grade, and stuck together. The three musketeers. Everyone knew how close the three of us were. But even Cassie knew me and Ben had a different connection.

"We're back!" Cassie screamed, running through the door, with Ringer and the rest of the squad. I grabbed the kit of medical supplies, taking out alcohol, numbing cream, and a needle and thread. I lifted up Bens shirt, "This is gonna sting." I say, he nodded quickly, "Just do it." I put a cloth under the wound, and started poring the liquid onto it. Ben groaned, tears spilling out of his closed eyes. I wiped at the wound, getting most of the blood off. Applying the numbing cream to it, hoping it would help.

After fixing up Bens wound, Cassie showed us to Evans house. Where he cleaned Ben and the rest of us up, allowing us to stay as long as we like.
I sat in the room me and Cassie shared, reading a random book off of Evans shelf.
"Knock, Knock." I heard Bens voice say, I looked up from my book, smiling. "Hey." I say, standing up from my seat to help him onto my bed. "How are you feeling?" he smiles, "Better." I gave him a thumbs up, setting my book on the table next to me. "Thank you, by the way," he says, "you kinda saved my life." I reached over, embracing him with a hug. "I love you, Ben." he stroked my hair. "I love you too."

"Without you there with me I don't think I would have made it.
