**Cynthia**
Zoë was gone when I woke up. She had sticky taped a note to the door reading: out for a while. Be back in a bit. I bit my lip. Artemis was not going to like that. I heard her specifically tell Zoë not to leave the cabin before seven. It was five thirty now. Oh well. I stood up, got dressed and ran outside to find her. She was in the forest, tracking a trail. It seemed about a day old from where I was standing. Zoë leapt off the log she was crouching on and bounded silently east. I ran after her, doing my best to stay hidden. After roughly ten metres she paused and squatted on the damp grass. She shook her head. Nothing. She walked back a foot and the corners of her mouth quirked upwards. I grinned. She'd found the trail again. Zoë stood up suddenly and ran. We were silent black figures in the sunset, running towards our goal. Zoë hadn't seemed at all surprised to see me, after I caught up with her. We didn't talk, instead communicating with hand gestures. After a while Zoë stopped and looked up.
"Perfect," she mumbled.
I looked up but all I could see were trees and shadows. No, hang on, there was a dark shape swing in the tree's branches. Zoë clambered up the tree and froze. It was a demigod, swinging slowly in the branches, a 'T' slashed across his t-shirt. Oh gods. It was Nico di Angelo. I checked his pulse. Faint, but steady. We cut the ropes around his waist and chest away and lifted him down from the tree. We turned to face a Hellhound. Zoë yelped in shock and I tried to control my heartbeat. Zoë dispatched of it quickly and we ran back to Camp, lugging Nico between us. Zoë's face was set in stone, a cold mask, concealing the fury beneath it.
