"Okay first game," Sean said to himself while stretching in the locker room. He wasnt nervous but he was beyond excited. This was the first game they would play as a team and He knew it would be a great season. He sat down on the chair by his locker to put on his socks and shinguards. He smiled as Harrison sat down next to him as his locker was next to his.
Of course they had spent a good amount of time together at practices, signings, and team bonding, but Sean didn't know him as well as he'd like too. 'I mean look at him,' he thought, ' With his perfect blonde hair that's the perfect length to runs your fingers through, and his adorable little birthmark on his beard that grows a patch of white hair, and- oh no I'm staring' Sean looked away as Harrison turned his head."Alright let's go," John, the coach, said breaking the awkward moment as it was time to go out on the field.
"Ladies and gentlemen please stand and give it up for your team FC Cincinnati!" Sean could hear the crowd roaring with cheer. They made their way out on the field as Sean looked up at the fans and smiled.
"Wow" he whispered to himself. Mitch was clapping and grinning and Harrison was waving and smiling as wide as he could as both teams lined up in the center of the field for the anthems.During the anthems all Harrison could think of was Ugo. 'Was he staring at me?' He thought, 'Does he know how much I like him?' His stomach was flipping and turning all over the place. 'Focus,' he remembered. This game is very important for the team and Harrison had no room in his mind for Sean as much as he liked thinking of him.
After the anthems, both teams formed a huddle. Harrison slyly grabbed okoli by the waist when next to the huddle so he could be next to him. Sean was taken by surprise and definitely distracted dispite looking at John who was in the middle of the huddle. Both Harrison and Sean were starting, Okoli at striker and Delbridge at defence. They nodded and the starters got on the field and were jumping around waiting for the start of the game.BEEEEEP!!!! The sharp sound of the whistle sounded and the first pass at Nippert stadium was made.
The game was going great it was 0-0 until Corben Bone, one of the players, played a great ball to Sean okoli and he scissor-kicked it into the goal. The crowd went crazy and the whole team jumped on Ugo. Sean was smiling and cheering with them when Harrison came to join the huddle. He came over and grabbed Sean' shoulders with his immensely huge hands, jumping into the pile. He smacked Sean on the butt and congratulated him, "Fantastic goal," he winked. Sean's stomach dropped and he smiled back at him.The game came to an end, the score being 2-1. After shaking hands and talking with the coaches, the rest of the team went over to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans. Sean wasn't feeling up to all of that attention with everything that was flooding his mind. After the game he didn't need to focus so much anymore and all of his thoughts came pummeling in like a stampede. Harrison was definitely flirting with the grabbing his waist and the wink after smacking his butt. But Sean wasn't sure and didn't want to make a fool of himself by flirting back and possibly getting rejected. His body went cold at the thought of it. He waved to the fans and smiled while heading to the locker room.
Harrison finished talking to John about the game, and grabbed a sharpie. He wanted to go check on Sean since he went straight to the lockers, but he didn't want to let anyone down. He signed as many programs and shirts as he could, before finally waving goodbye so he could head to talk to Sean.
Harrison walked in and Sean was facing towards his locker as he was changing out of his shirt to put it away. Harrison stood there watching his back flex as he pulled his shirt over his head and his arm as he threw it into the cubbie.
"You know you did great out there," Harrison said, getting Sean's attention. Sean got butterflies at the beautiful, Australian, sweet toned voice that belonged to Harrison. He turned around and stood up, thanking him. "You too, that game went great." Harrison smirked, seeing a chance to mess with Sean, " You didn't expect it to go well?" He teased moving closer to him. "N-no I mean yes but that's not what I meant it-it's I-" Harrison laughed, "Relax I'm just joking I know what you meant." Sean blushed smirking down at the ground while blushing. He peeked back up at Harrison who was now inches from him. Sean looked him in his pale blue, almost grey eyes not knowing what else to do. Almost like he was in a trance.Harrison got caught up in the moment with Sean being shirtless and his beautiful warm eyes that he was moving closer and closer until they were almost touching noses until finally, Harry turned his head to the ground while running his fingers through his sweat drenched hair. He walked to his locker breaking the close, personal bubble they had around them. Sean let out the breath he was holding in the short amount of time right as Andrew Weideman walked in and gave him a questioning look. Ugo shook it off grabbing his FCC jacket. Sean looked back at Harrison and he was changing into his jacket as well. He tried not to stare at his amazing back side as Weideman was in there with them. Slowly the team started piling in, Mitch being last as he was signing and talking with fans, which would soon become the regular, Mitch being last in.
The team relaxed in the locker room and congratulated each other, John gave a speech about how well they did and what to work on the following week, and after that they were free to go home and rest. Sean found Jimmy, his roomate, after hanging around with the guys to head home to their apartment. "Hey Jimmy, you ready?" Ugo asked. "Yeah let me grab my stuff," he exclaimed with a great big smile. Sean chuckled at his enthusiasm.
Later that night when Sean and Harrison went to bed all they were both thinking about was that moment in the locker room and how it felt to be that close. What was that? They both didn't know.
