The grass crunched under our feet as we turned sharply during suicides. The breeze blew on my sweat and through my hair, but the sun beated down relentlessly. John had a meeting and other things to deal with, so we had a captains practice. We were told to do fitness, so Austin chose suicides because it was easier than long distance.
Andrew and Eric hadn't said anything about themselves yet, so I assumed they were waiting until after practice, or another practice where John would be there.
After four sets of suicides, everyone wanted to play world cup. We all got into partners and Ugo and I were together. We chose to be Germany and Andrew and Eric were France. The rest of the boys paired up randomly and we started. Mitch was in goal, and Dallas was kicking out the balls.
"GERMANY!" Ugo screamed before heading in a ball I crossed to him. Mitch jumped for it, but it went in the back of the net and I jumped on Ugo's back to celebrate. I ruffled his noodle-like curls and smiled.
Ross and Corben as portugal, ended up beating Sean and I in the final round by nut-megging mitch and everyone went crazy.
As we still had a little time left, some of the guys were juggling, some were doing the crossbar challenge and the rest if us were just talking.
Austin was by us talking along with Ross and Jimmy.
"Can you bring the team in, Eric and I have something to say." Andrew announced.
I smiled at him and nodded to give him reassurance.
"Yeah sure." Austin said. "Alright guys come in before we all leave, Andrews got something to say," he shouted.
All the guys jogged over and stood around them.
Andrew cleared his throat. "Okay. So I have something to announce that may or may not be a surprise to all of you. Before I say, I want to add that I don't want this to take away from the focus of what we are all here to do. With that said," he paused, "Eric and I.... are together, as a couple." He smiled as Eric came closer to him and held his hand.
Everyone looked around to each other talking and some were shocked. No one had a negative response and I could tell Eric was relieved.
It made me happy that the team was accepting, well except Jamie. It gave me a sense of hope that maybe after the season we could tell them about Ugo and I.
Still, we had to focus and too many relationships and other behind the scene things with the team, would definitely take away from that. I was just happy for Andrew and Eric, and relieved that what Jamie saw didn't affect us at all.
We all stood chatting for a bit until one by one, the guys left. Ugo decided to leave with me and we went back to my place to shower.
"Do you want to shower first?" Sean asked while tossing his bag down on the couch.
I smirked. "Who says one of us had to go first?"
"What do you mean? One of us has to go," he questioned while getting something out of his bag.
I shook my head at him and smiled at him before I pulled him by his arm towards the bathroom.
Once we got to the bathroom he finally realized what I meant, and we started to get undressed.
I turned the water on warm and stepped in leading Sean in with me. My shower was rather large and had clear, glass doors around it.
We finished showering and cleaning up, so we went to lounge about in the living room.
"We should go out, it's only...." I looked at my phone, "7:30," I finished.
"You know, we should." Sean said triumphantly.
