What Are You Hiding? (Tofuudiger Fanfiction)

Chapter 13

"Liam, what are you doing?" I ask.

Liam is on his knees, wearing nothing but rags. His head is in his hands and appears to be either extremely upset or even crying. When would Liam ever cry?

"Don't you realize what you did?" he shouts. "Don't you realize that you ruined everything?"

The ground opens and a giant crevice forms beneath Liam. He falls into it and the ground closes back up. A large stone carving falls from the sky and lands where Liam fell. Words start engraving into the stone.

"Murdered," it says.

"Hey Zack, wake up," I hear Will's voice say.

I snap back awake from the dream, startling Will with my sudden movement.

"Are you okay?" Will asks.

"Uh, yeah," I lie.

This month has been filled with weird dreams. They could easily be interpreted but how could I know if what my dreams conveying are true? After breakfast and getting dressed, Will and I drive to school and park the car.

"Well, I have no classes with you since I'm in all honors classes, but I'll see you at lunch," Will says.

"See you later."

When I walk into study hall, I felt different without Joe there. My routine is disrupted. I sit alone today, but so does everyone else on a daily basis.

"Zack."

I turn around to see who called my name. It is one of my classmates, Isaac.

"Where's your pretty boy, Joe? I heard he got overdosed and almost died. Weak don't you think?"

"Yo, Isaac, calm down," says Anthony, Isaac's best friend.

"Dude, everyone knows that he doped to pass all his tests. What a loser," Isaac says, starting to laugh.

I lose it, go up to his face, and start yelling.

"You don't know anything, you hear me? He's not a loser, you are. Aren't you the one that got cheated on for some hot football player? Sounds like you're sour that other people have better lives than you. Pitiful."

I return to lay back in my seat.

"At least I can get girls," Isaac says under his breath.

I decide not to verbally fight back. The teacher enters the classroom and we start our work quietly. The bell rings later, ending the period, so I head to my next class. Eventually, it's time for lunch and Will and I wait in the office for Joe to arrive.

"Hey guys!" Joe says coming into the office.

He checks in and the three of us eat lunch together. As we sit down at a table, a buff guy walks towards us.

"I'm Parker, Liam's partner," the guy says.

"Oh, uh hello," I say nervously.

"Liam's in jail. I'm thanking you guys, he was a bad person. But, I'm here to warn you. Liam is getting a really good lawyer and he might get out and come after you guys. Be careful."

Parker leaves and we're left speechless.
