"And Miss West has done it again!" Gretchen exclaimed after the opening ceremony of the exhibit. "I couldn't expect more from you, dear." She held my hand. smiling. "Thanks, Retty." I smiled back.
" You may be my best friend but I won't allow you calling me by that name right now."
I scrutinized my eyebrows. "Why not?" She pointed at my right. "Cause that hottie might hear you and probably call me 'that' for the rest of my beautiful life," she answered. I looked at the direction she's pointing when a gorgeous gentleman in a black suit passed by. He looked back and winked at Retty, who was purposely staring at him so he would notice. "Oh, Retty..."
"What? I can't help it," she said. "Admit it. He's hot." I glanced at the gorgeous human once more and saw some girls looking at him for a very, very long while. "Look at that." I pointed to where the man was. "Where?" Retty leaned to what I was pointing.
A girl stood in front of the guy with her mouth wide open and her hands by the sides. "Is there something wrong, miss?" the guy asked, smirking. The girl's face suddenly turned as red as the lipstick she was wearing. Yes, her whole face. From top of her forehead to her neck. She gripped her friend's arms and turned her head toward her. "Marnie... I think I'm in heaven," her final words echoed before she actually fainted.
I never thought something like that could happen... And it just did.
"Oh damn..." Retty said in surprise. "For a moment there, I thought her head would actually turn into a tomato." she nodded.
I laughed but then I felt a little bad for the girl. Even if she is overly reactive to inhuman male appearance. "Hush, Retty. Geez..." I shook her arm so she could stop snickering. But just seeing her the way she looks now makes me want to laugh even harder. "Dammit, Retty. Stop it! You're laugh is intoxicating my sober mind" I felt my lips curve upward like it was going to stretch up to my ears as I stop myself from smiling. She was still silently laughing with an arm on her stomach and a hand hiding her face from the people gazing at us.
I can't help but notice her face turning red as well. I can clearly see her laughing in front of me but there wasn't even a slight sound coming out of her mouth. She was making these tiny head bangs every time she lets out some air, which were suppose to be the ha-ha-ha in her laugh. "You look like you're choking on air," I chuckled.
"Shut up, Elizabeth Damont West." she finally said after stabilizing her breathing pattern and fixing her posture. "I am not choking on ai- Whoa! I feel wuzzy!" I caught her off-balance. "Take it easy, Ret. You were hyperventilating like a kid with an asthma attack a while back... when you were just laughing by yourself." I let her go after she stood up once more. "Air is good. Air is good," she mumbled.
"Hi, ladies." I turned and saw the beautiful man who passed by a while back. "Hellllloww, hot stuff," Retty bellowed, wiggling her eyebrows.
