The guy gave out a yeah-I-get-that-a-lot smirk and there was a sort of glimmer in his eyes. Not too humble, not too arrogant.

Of course he gets it a lot. He's like a young Adrien Brody. But with more angular features.

"This guy is definitely trouble," I thought as he swept his eyes from Retty to me. "So..." he said smoothly. "You're the famous Elizabeth West." He stretches out his hand expecting a handshake. I was about to say something when Retty shook his hand first. I smirked. This girl loves taking chances.

"And I'm her best friend." She held her hand in his for another 10 seconds. "Gretchen. Gretchen Strom." She shook her hand again, vigorously. I looked at him and he was smiling nervously. He looked at me,like his eyes were saying "Help" or something but still directing his smile towards Retty.

The guy seemed to pacify her by wrapping both of his hands around hers and and eventually kissed it. Retty stood there like a statue after that. The guy stood beside me. "I'm Sev Pembleton," he finally said.

His name sounded so familiar. But so do the random strangers I've met around the world.

"Well. it's nice to meet you Sev." I smiled. I looked at Retty and she's stoned like she just looked Medusa in the eye.

     Nah. She'll be fine.

"What brings you here, Mr. Pembleton?" I asked as a server handed my champagne. "Oh well... my father loves photography as much as yours did. He said you're a prodigy. I just came to see it for myself," he answered then winked. I swear I know this guy from somewhere. "Have we met?" I narrowed my eyes. Then I notice Retty still not moving. What the heck?

"Hold that thought." I put a finger in the air when he was about to speak. "I have to de-petrify my pet hamster," actually referring to Retty.

Since when did I refer Retty as a hamster?

"Hamster? Seriously... You could've at least called me something that could fly." Retty frowned once we entered.

"Yeah. Like a bat...or a cockroach," I said, fixing my hair in front of the clean and oh so glamorous mirror with lights embedded on its sides.

Retty turned her head to me and snorted before powdering her forehead. "He is so interested in you, Elizabeth."

"Yeah so are the other guys I've met."

"Oh, Liz. Not this talk again," she groaned. " I know you lost him but can't you open your heart a little more?" She zipped her make up kit and gave me a searching glance. "You know it wasn't only him, Retty. Both of them too." I looked down and sighed. "All of them..."

When we got out, Sev wasn't there anymore. And soon after, Retty and I helped close up the exhibit. "Liz! Liz!" Retty came running to me holding a piece of paper in her hand. "Told you he liked you," she fretted handing me the paper.

Dear Miss West,

It was really nice meeting you. Hope we bump into each other some time :)

-Sev Pembleton

P.S. My father will surely hear about this.

Then I realized Retty was reading it with me like she was a narrator or something. "Stop that."

☺☺☺

Hello there guys! This is actually my first ever novel I'm publishing in Wattpad (and in everywhere else). And I am going to complete it. (God help me) I'm really trying to avoid writer's block as much as possible so I just go where this story is flowing and make something up along the way (to get rid of all the other complicated details in my head. This is how I do it. Trust me.). No kidding I really have no clue on what's gonna be happening in the next chapter and in the next chapter and the next and the next (get it, right?) so ... fingers crossed and hope it's gonna turn out smoothly.

Lots of love,

Aiyra xx
