Chapter Six: Mistake Maybe?
"You know they had the nerve to tell me no," Aubrey complained.
It was fifth period and Aubrey was complaining about something. Mr. Johnson never showed up to class, so everyone started talking to their friends. Aubrey continued to ramble, but I was too distracted to pay her any mind. The scene from this morning kept replaying in my head. The boys devious smiles, the nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach, me saying yes, everything about it distracted me.
Today after school Gage, Elliot, and Alec are coming over to my house. I don't know what for though, all they requested was to come over. At the time I was quite relieved, but now as school is close to ending I'm growing nervous. What do they want from me? It doesn't matter, everything will be fine as long as Elise is there. Just two more classes left and school will be over.

The shrilling sound of the bell rang as I shoved my books in my locker. It was the time to go home and I was trying to leave as fast as possible so I wouldn't have to walk with The Three Mysteries. Elliot, Alec, and Gage are The Three Mysteries, it's my new nickname for them.
I swiftly slid through the school gates, trying to make an escape. Thank goodness my Three Mysteries weren't anywhere in sight. During my walk home I realized it was a beautiful day. Well not exactly to a normal person, but it is to me.
The breeze was warm with a slight chill, giving me goosebumps. I didn't mind though, it was the way I liked it. The tree branches rustled from the strong wind, making the exotic colored leaves plunge towards the ground.
I was so distracted from the pulchritudinous scenery displayed before me, that I didn't even hear the quiet footsteps behind me until I felt someone touch my shoulder. I jumped, obliviously being caught off guard, and whirled around to face this person. Thinking he was an attacker, I punched him in the face.
"Ow," I heard the boy howl in pain. I kept a safe distance as I studied the boy lying on the ground clutching his probably swollen cheek. He had black hair with bright green eyes and seemed harmless. I slowly trotted up to him and held out my hand to help regain his position on his feet.
"Sorry," I sheepishly said, ashamed of my actions.
At first he seemed quite shocked that I had hit him, like he didn't expect that to come from a girl. After a few seconds he said a quick okay and just stood there.
"So what do you want?" I asked cutting to the chase.
He stared at me kind of hurt, "Aren't you such a nice person. First you hit me and now you rudely demand answers."
"Well in my defense, you came up behind me first," I snapped back.
"Fine," he said while digging in his pant pockets. "My name is Alex and I believe this belongs to you."
He handed me an iPod, my iPod as a matter of fact. I had lost it about a week ago and went crazy. I remember emptying drawers and throwing things around trying to find it.
"Thanks" I stated, "and sorry for socking you in the face."
He just nodded and strolled the other way. I turned around and continued walking home, happy to have my beautiful iPod back. I started to go through it and stumbled upon an unusual text message. I opened it:
' This is my # text me sometime ;)
-Alex '
"Ew!" I exclaimed to the empty streets around me. 'Sneaky bastard' I thought to myself as I lightly chuckled.
