Chapter 5: Give and Take a Little
I slowly creaked my eyes open.
"Why am I in the bathroom," I grumbled.
The memories instantly appeared in my head, not wanting to remember I quickly got up. As soon as I got up, I had fell down.
"Ow" I groaned. I have this major headache and I must have gotten up to fast. Once again I got up, but slowly this time. Accomplishing my goal, I walked over to the mirror and clicked it open. While reaching for the Alieve I turned on the sink.
I popped two of the pills into my mouth and started drinking water from the faucet. I glanced up at the mirror and gasped. I looked terrible. There were dark streaks of eyeliner and mascara running down my cheeks, my lips were cut from biting it when I tried to stop myself from screaming, my nose was runny, and my eyes were swollen and puffy.
Suddenly a knock at the door made me jump.
"Quinn are you in there?" my sister frantically asked.
"Um yeah" I hoarsely replied.
"Are you okay?"
"Yea I'm fine," I lied to make her feel better.
"Well come down when your ready, the pizza is here." she said.
"K" I answered.
When I heard my bedroom door close I decided to take a shower to clean up, not wanting my sister to see the condition I was in. About 10 minutes later I got out and sauntered into my room. I lazily took out sweat pants along with a purple cami and threw them on. Before I left I looked in the mirror and was very pleased that I didn't look like someone who had just cried their eyes out for an hour.
When I reached the end of the stairs, Elise was already there holding out a plate of pizza for me.
"Thanks," I forced a smile. The gloomy feeling hadn't quite left yet, but I didn't want to let Elise know that.
"Your welcome, come on let's go watch a movie," she said while moving to the couch.
I followed her and sat in the armchair. The movie that was on was The Nightmare Before Christmas. This caused me to smile a little, because it was my favorite movie when I was a child. During the movie I became much happier, even laughing sometimes at Jack.
Around 6:30 I excused myself to go do homework. Before sitting on my bed I made sure the picture was still facing down, so memories wouldn't come back. I plugged my iPod into my iHome and started looking for a song. Finally deciding on Counting Stars by One Republic, I grabbed my bag and started doing my homework.
"Lately I've been losin sleep..." I softly sang along to the song. It was 8:00 and I just finished my homework. My music unexpectedly stopped due to the buzzing of my iPod. I rolled over and grabbed it.
"Hmmm, an unknown number texted me" I said aloud.
I opened the message:
'Hey Quinn'
What, who the heck is this. I quickly replied:
'Who is this?'
Almost immediately my phone started buzzing with another message:
'Guess that's for me to know and for you to figure out ;)'
As soon as I read those words I knew it was the boys, it was obliviously their catchphrase. I assumed it was Elliot since he was the chatter-box of the group:
