Avian ducked as a ceramic vase full of blooming wild flowers went flying past him, shattering into a thousand pieces as it hit the wall behind him, sending hundreds of broken shards skittering across the floor in every direction. Avian winced, this was definitely not how he had hoped his day was going to start but he could honestly say that it wasn't surprising either. Brynn was standing on the bed, her eyes wild with anger, and fists up ready to start swinging as she starred daggers into Avian.
"Now Brynn, please just give me a chance to explain-" he didn't have a chance to get all the words out before diving onto the floor to avoid the desk that came flying through the air, smashing to pieces just like the vase. Damn it all to hell, she's strong. He thought furiously trying to figure out his options and angrily cursing Arul to every sort of painful imprisonment that he could think of.
"You know her better than anyone here, I'm sure you would be the only one able to get her to agree to come with us." That clever bastard had picked his words wisely, making it sound like he was respecting Avian when in fact he was putting him in an impossible situation, locked in a small room with a crazed psycho path. Having already convinced the brother on the condition that his sister agreed to help as well, Avian could see no way out, he had to convince her or the entire mission would be lost. Avian groaned, inwardly kicking himself. Why couldn't he have just stayed and rotted in his little prison like his skeleton cell mate?
"What in the hell makes you think I'm going to help you, after everything you've done to me do you really think I'm going to give you the chance to screw me over again like you done how many other times before?" she screeched trying to find him on the ground while she still stood on the bed. Her long hair was disheveled and matted; her face covered in grime gave her a sort of animalistic crazed look about her.
"Brynn, just listen!" he said standing up only to duck back down again as another object was came soaring towards his head, a chair this time? He wasn't going to get anywhere like this.
"No, you listen! I've had enough of you to last me a life time and then some! I'm not going o play your games, and be your little lackey girl again, and I most definitely am not going to fall for your charm again. So whatever it is you want you can just forget you egotistical, self serving son of a-"
"There money, lots of money!" Avian said quickly making Brynn pause with curiosity. "And not just your average bounty, royal jewels, the favor of the future queen, anything you want could be yours." Avian continued and stood up slowly seeing that his words were having a favorable effect on her. Her expression softened from anger to one of thoughtful consideration as she mused over the idea. She looked at him, her eyes squinted with scrutiny as she looked at him critically, you could see it in her eyes as she weighed her options.
"And what exactly is it that I'm needed for?" she asked carefully keeping her voice level as she watched him, her body still tense with anger that was just barely contained beneath the surface.
"We need to find someone, well actually a few people; we're trying to stop someone that's all I can say right now." He said knowing the element of mystery would be too tantalizing for Brynn to pass up. He watched as she bit her lip, obviously trying to fight against her immediate interest, after a moment or two of internal conflict she finally sighed in resignation and glared up at him again.
"You swear there are jewels?" she demanded and Avian could have laughed in relief, mission accomplished. She stepped off the bed, running her hands through her hair smoothing down as she stopped in front of Avian fixing him with a cool stare.
"What do you get out of all this?" she demanded her golden brown eyes burning holes through Avian's. he swallowed and shifted his weight uncomfortable at her intense scrutiny.
