After noticing it was 6.45pm and realising she had a big stain on her white sweater, Eveline decided to change. She managed to pull on a three quarter sleeved, black and white Iron Maiden shirt. She kept on the same jeans. She quickly ran towards the bathroom and reapplied her mascara. The nurse sprayed some Chance by Chanel perfume on herself. Looking in the mirror, Evee thought that she looked okay. She ran her fingers through her long blonde hair and tried smelling her own breath by holding her hand in front of her mouth.
She didn't stink but decided to brush her teeth anyways.
She thought she had plenty of time but a knock on the door put a stop to that. She had just put her tootbrush in her mouth.
Shit, she couldn't let Harry waiting in a public hallway.
Evee ran towards the door, trying to brush her teeth at the same time. Her hand quickly opened the door. Standing in front of her was Harry, wearing a checkered shirt and a black vest.
Dammit, she always had a weakness for men in plaid shirts.
"Hi! Come in!" She tried speaking through the tootpaste. "I'll be right with you!" She was about to turn around and rush towards the bathroom when she saw the flowers in his hands. Lillies. One of her favourites. "Oh! You brought flowers!"
To Eveline, that was exactly what it sounded like anyways. Harry only heard a misformed 'flower' in the sentence, the rest he couldn't understand. "Be right back!"
Harry shared a glance with James, his security and noticed that even he was holding back laughter. "I'll be in the car if you need me sir."
Harry nodded and watched his security leave the apartment. He took off his vest and hung it on one of Evee's chairs. He wasn't sure if he should have brought flowers but seeing her reaction, he was glad he did.
"Aha! Sorry about that, I hope you can understand what I'm saying now." Eveline grinned, reappearing in the living room. She quickly made her way towards him and pecked his cheek.
Harry on the other hand, was still amazed at how easy she got along with people. It seemed as if she was a natural in social situations. It really felt as if they knew each other for years. "Yeah."
"Thanks for the flowers by the way. They're lovely." She smiled, picking up the white lilies and smelling them.
"Ah yes, you're welcome. Had to bring something if you went through all the effort of cooking." Harry replied smiling.
Eveline meanwhile walked towards the open kitchen. She was sure she had a vase underneath the kitchensink. "How was your day?" Evee asked, opening the water tab to fill the vase with water.
"A little boring, had a few meetings." He spoke. "Glad it was seven o'clock. Yours?"
"Slept late, went grocery shopping, cooked a meal for a prince." Eveline shrugged, placing the flowers in the white vase.
Harry laughed, "A handsome prince, you mean?"
Eveline cocked her right eyebrow at the ginger in front of her. "Meh. He's cute but handsome..." She scrunched her nose, teasing him.
"Oi! No need to hurt my feelings here." He grinned. "But cute is okay, I can live with cute. Don't ever tell my mates I said that though."
Evee laughed, placing the vase on her dinner table. "You're very handsome Harry, as if you don't know."
The prince didn't really know how to accept the compliment. The fact that he was a ginger didn't do him any justice either, he always tried to hide his flushed cheeks but it was no use. "Aw, did I make the prince blush?" The nurse grinned at Harry rolling his eyes. "Come on, what do you want to drink? Want to share those Belgian beers you brought with you last saturday?
