Author's note: this is a very important chapter in this story, if not one of the most important ones. This was something that had to happen. I am NOT and I repeat myself, I am NOT going to write a chapter about visiting her grave because I do not feel comfortable doing that. I can write about his sexlife (even though I'm not even comfortable with that) but I refuse to write about his grieve. This is written purely because it had to happen and that's the end of it.
It was the following day when Evee saw Harry for the first time after her talk with Chloe. She was nervous at first, thinking that whenever she'd speak to him, she would stumble upon her own words. Nothing was further from the truth. Harry and her had always gotten along, they had never been anxious in each other's company. Even on their first date, she didn't think anything was forced.
"Hi." Evee smiled, stepping into Nottingham Cottage like she had done a hundred times before.
"Hey" His smile reached his eyes as he captured her lips with his. "How was work yesterday?"
"Good, a little boring without Chloe. I called her up and she has the flu." The blonde shrugged, playing along. She wasn't planning on throwing Chloe under the bus. It was her own fault for being so nosey all the time. Then again, Evee was quite glad she had her conversation with Chloe. It made a lot of things clear for her.
"That's unfortunate." Harry's eyes didn't make contact with hers and adverted towards the ground.
Evee thought he was such a shitty liar but didn't call him on it, "Well, everyone gets sick every once in a while, I just hope she feels better soon." Placing her purse on the table, she turned towards him. "I love you, you know that right?"
Harry lifted his eyebrows in confusion, "Of course I know that, is something wrong?"
"No." Evee sighed, placing her head on his shoulder. "I just wanted you to know that."
"I love you too." She could feel him wrap his arms around her. "I was actually wondering if you'd be able to catch a break from work in April."
"In April?" She swallowed the lump in her throat. April. That's two months away. "Why?"
"I thought we could make a little trip." He grinned.
"Okay." Evee shrugged, ignoring her racing thoughts. April. Was he going to do it in April? Where was he going to do it? Had he actually asked her father?
Her father.
Oh boy.
She totally forgot about that. She prayed to god Harry was planning on going to her father. He was a man of tradition. Eveline knew her father wouldn't make it easy on Harry. "Where are we going?"
"I'm not telling you, it's a surprise." Harry grinned, revealing the slight gap in between his teeth.
"Does it involve a plane ride?"
"Unfortunately, it does. You'll be fine." He had to hold back laughter at her scrunched expression. "It'll get better in time."
"Right. Let me just use the bathroom for a second." Evee mumbled, ignoring Harry's laughter in the background.
Harry in the meantime eyed her purse. Her phone was still in there, he knew she hadn't taken it along with her to the bathroom. He hurriedly ran towards it, opening it quickly. He grabbed the white iPhone and tried to unlock it.
Shit he needed a code.
What was her code? Her birthday, right. His fingers rapidly moved along the touchscreen. "0509"
