Awakening to Mitch's face, I smile. I'm in my home, and I feel so safe. But I'm not. Mitch has a disturbed look on his face. "The mutts are coming, Gen. We've got to get out of here!"

~~~
"Dood, Gen, we've to get out of here! Quick! They're coming..." Mitch says, as I begin speedwalking quickly behind him.
"What's coming, again, Mitch?!"
"The muttations. From the arena. They were not popular this year because of how quickly the games went," Mitch yells, looking back at me, who is picking up the pace, "and the arena is nearest to PopzVille, so it is the first infected. It only makes sense." I have equipped my bow and sheath of arrows, around fifty-two, with my iron sword slung behind my back. I also have a satchel hanging on one arm with forty-five apples in it. Mitch took my diamond axe, which seems to be a favorite of his. Anyway, we continue running to the only safe house in the whole town, that's a green home on the end of Garey Lane. When we arrive at the house, we realize that it was in fact the first infected. I look to Mitch with wide eyes and he does the same to me. The house looks so... Different... From when I last saw it. It was so... Pretty... Now it's a large mess, almost exploded. I see movement inside of the house and I grab Mitch's shirt sleeve, and pull him away. A second later a mutation emerges and is shot down by a gun coming out of nowhere. As of right now, one mutt is out. But we don't know, he may have friends.
I look around from where the gunshot could have come from, and I catch a glimpse of two teenagers a couple trees back in the woods next to the castle. One a girl, with light skin, light brown hair swooped to one side kind of like mine, except it went down in the back, and she was wearing an orange striped shirt and a dark blue pair of overalls, a pair of orange and white shoes. She had beady blue eyes and no imminent expression on her face.
The boy was a plain teenager, although he looks as if I've seen him before. He is a brunet, and his hair actually DOES look like mine. Underneath his hair I catch a glimpse of a pair of deep red eyes. I double-take since red eyes are not normal. He wears a pair of green and black headphones, a plain white teeshirt, grey pants, black and purple shoes, and purple bracelets. He's very pale by the looks of it, and he looks unhappy, but relieved. I hear a faint noise, a song. Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. It just so happened to be at the point of the song that says, This is it, the apocolypse.
I reach for Mitch's shirt sleeve again and pull him in a speedwalk towards these teenagers. "Gen, what are you doing? Please don't tell me you're going to talk to those kids!" He whisper yells, my arm still clutching his shirt. I am determined to talk to them, to see why they had a gun and who they are.
~~~

"So your father abused you? Isn't it ironic that he abused you even though you lived in a town that supported child safety?" I ask, sitting on a single log, in between Mitch and the girl. The boy nods, and I tell him I'm sorry for him. He tells me it's alright and I don't need to feel sorry.

A moment later I hear galloping of horses about a quarter mile back, two voices yelling. Again, one a girl, one a boy. I look closely in the woods to see if I could catch a glimpse. I see my brown and white paint mare Fedora and Raleigh's black stallion Stiletto with two unfamiliar riders.

By the looks of it, the girl has rainbow colored hair, and dark purple eyes. She wears a long sleeved black shirt, white shorts, and black boots.

The boy is wearing a helmet of some sort- and it looks really odd. He had no face with the mask on, but It was blue and he had a hoodie with HD painted on it, a pair of blue jeans on as bottoms. I yell out to them.

"Those with the horses! Follow my voice! We're at a safe spot!" I hear the horses stop.

"Why fucking should we?!" The girl yells.

"Yeah, why?!" The boy follows.

"Because I'm like you! I want to escape from all of this!"

"How do we know you're not from the law!?" The girl projects. The law? Were they criminals? I mean, obviously. They stole horses. But why do they not trust me? Nowadays the law is only men. Yes, I agree. That's sexist, but that's how it is.

"Do you really think that the town officers would allow a girl to be apart of the force?! I don't think so!" I hear the galloping of the horses coming closer to the site where we are.

"You sure?" I hear the girl say. They're close enough that we dont have to yell. I turn my head around.

"I'm sure. You need to learn to trust, you know." I say, looking back at the fire.
