Several Months Later:

Harry leaned back on the couch, smiling as Ginny fussed over Alanna's birthday cake. He put an arm around Parvati, and she smiled at him, nothing but happiness in her eyes.

"Relax, Gin, it'll taste good whether the icing flowers are perfect or not." Ron told her.

"Yeah, but…" She protested, tossing her hair out of her face impatiently, icing on her fingers.

"But nothing, baby. Come on, sit down, have a cup of tea. Stop worrying." Blaise said, rolling his eyes at everyone as he pulled her down onto his lap. Ginny hit her husband on the arm, but smiling as she snuggled into Blaise's shoulder. Harry pulled Parvati closer to him, and she obliged, leaning against him. Harry rested his head against hers, breathing in the sweet, familiar scent of her shampoo.

Ron caught his eye from across the room, and grinned mischievously. Harry rolled his eyes at his friend, but he had to smile.

"Mama, can I see my cake now?" Alanna asked, running into the room, her dark curls bouncing, eyes alight with childish joy. Blaise and Ginny's faces lit up as they saw their daughter, and Harry felt himself feeling a strange emotion. Parvati looked sideways at him, her eyes reflecting exactly what Harry felt.

Harry lifted an eyebrow questioningly as he saw a plea in her expression, and she leaned closer.

"I want a kid." She murmured, and Harry smiled lovingly at her, tucking a bit of her hair behind her hair.

"We'll have to do something about that, won't we?" He whispered back, and she blushed, lowering her eyes. Harry kissed her on the forehead, and turned his attention to the familiar refrain of "Happy Birthday" that was resounding around the room.

He caught Hermione's eye from across the room, and her eyes sparkled, grinning as she sung along. Harry watched Alanna's eyes sparkling as she blew out the candles, and glanced at Ginny. As if sensing his gaze, she looked at him, her eyes saying one thing.

I'm so glad you're happy.

Harry nodded, smiling, reassuring her that he was. That he'd never been happier.

For the first time in his life, Harry was honestly glad that, though there's plenty of ups and downs, life still goes on.

It'll always keep going on.
