Throughout my time being a junior in high school I have known it to be quite a catastrophe. State wide exams and college preparation tests. Those personally made me want to rip out more of the hair that is already falling out due to stress. I have had to take major breathers which weren't always fun. I cannot fathom the idea that I made it out alive just in time for the treasured "Summer Vacation." We all have these grandiose plans to try and fulfill, such as partying hard, getting yourself trashed beyond acceptable, or become beach bums, and eventually look like Spongebob and Patrick; when they wanted to become tan for Larry the Lobster.
How are we to say that the treasured summer vacation, teenagers aspire to when the first bell of the first day of Hell starts all over again; that this isn't something we can plan? We say that we are in control of our lives. Yet we aren't at all. Live fast and die young seems to be the motto for this generation of children our parents decided to pop out. We plan ahead and not live in the moment. Whether the moment is good or bad.
Don't expect the unexpected. Just like the people in the cheesy horror movies who stay in the house to end up getting killed. Note to self- that is a bad, no terrible example of living in the moment.
If you hear a foreign sound in your house, you best be packing your phone charger and money and get out of that house. Not check the house and while there are no lights to help you be stupid, and "save the electricity" there is a potential killer in there be my guest. But death is not in my vocabulary today.
Who knows summer could be good this year. Maybe. In my opinion this is a hundred and four days of sitting-on-your-butt-binge-watching-television-shows-and-not-eating-food. Not saying that sixty hours of endless Game of Thrones is a bad thing. But this "summer body" is still a work in progress.
All of the students in my seventh period psychology class all were waiting for the last bell to ring, to signal our freedom from this prison. The movie High School Musical was an evident representation of how each of the six students that showed up on the last day of school.
Five seconds left. My heart sped up faster and faster, like traveling to the top of Thunder Mountain while increasing your adrenaline. Watching the clock on my phone made this whole situation drag on longer than needed. One. I reached down to get my hand-me-down worn out Red Jansport backpack and slowly made my way through the mass of rambunctious teenagers.
Placing my ever so worn out headphones in my ears, and began to listen to "101" by Walla. I began trudging to the bus loop; that should change the name to "The High School Petting Zoo". Where childish fights and people get too friendly in the eye of the public.
As a seventeen year old my parents still think it is still acceptable to ride the bus when you own a drivers license.
You think these savages would be a little more cordial instead of being in each others personal bubble. In my perfect world there would be and arms length rule and a mass distribution of hand disinfectant.
All these people who tower over me have my envy. Thank you to all the Jolly Green Giants out there who do not know what "being short" means. Better yet box you in and "don't see you". I'm sorry but I do not want to be up close and personal with your odorous back.
Having to say excuse me and push my way through the herds of teenagers is exhausting. Breaking a sweat is not my cup of tea, let alone interacting with people. I would just like to seclude myself in my room with my cat.
One might think that riding the bus would be simple. Unless you have a vehicle filled with wild animals that are the main attraction in the zoo. I carefully made my way up the three steps of the smelly yellow banana and ventured into he jungle to my usual seat five. Where home was a waiting game now.
