We left the hospital hours ago. Shane was fine, he was only asleep. The doctors were unable to help him in any other way. They applied stitches to his forearm, and it was already in the midst of healing. I was more or less in the same state, I had a piercing headache and was extremely hot. I was drenched in sweat.
We were walking home together, -- Since his truck was now destroyed. I felt his hand gently brush past mine and I smiled, I took his hand in mine and slowed my pace.
"You held my hand the entire time, didn't you?" I looked at him.
He shrugged, "I didn't want you to feel alone."
I understood what he meant. "Thanks." I squeezed his hand gently.
I felt something brush my shoulder on the other side of me, I turned and gasped at who stood before me. She linked her arm through mine, and the wind blew her blonde hair away from her face. It was flowing in the wind, and you could see straight into her light blue eyes. She smiled at me, and I only stared open mouthed at her. I couldn't fathom the scene in front of me.
"F-Felicia?" I stumbled over her name. I hadn't said it in so long. Hell, I tried to not even think it. she was always referred to as 'she', or 'her' for my benefit.
"Heyy! Gawd! It's been so long since I've seen you. You're so big now, Crissy." I sat in silence, stunned.
She leaned forward to see past me, "Aye, Shae!" Her use of Shane's old nickname, shook me out ofmy frozen state.
"H-How are you here?" I asked her.
She just looked at me and started to cry, she was starting to fade.I couldn't feel her soft hand on my arm anymore.
"No!" I cried, as I tried holding onto her. My hands passed right through her. I didn't think I could bear to lose her again. She faded completely and a sob built up in my chest, I turned to see how Shane was taking it, but when i looked at him, he was beginning to disappear as well.
"Shane! What are you doing?!" I shouted in despair, "You can't leave me, too! Shane!" I grasped at him, but only caught thin air. "Shane! You can't!" I broke down and fell to my knees wailing. "Y-You c-can't leave m-me!"
***************************
"You can't....you can't..." I woke up mumbling. I was drenched in sweat and as I squinted around the room, I realized it had just been a dream. It had been a while since i had dreamed of, Felicia, and I had forgotten how hard they were on me. the dreams were always so realistic.
The male nurse from earlier was in the room this time. the red-head must have left. He noticed me, and smiled. "I see you've finally woken up." he answered my stares.
I said nothing. "Were you having a nightmare? I heard you grumbling a bit, in your dreams." I picked u his slight British accent. I nodded and he sighed, "So, you'll speak in your dreams, but not to me?"
I swallowed hard, I had to know what my dream meant. If Felicia faded because she was dead, then is that why Shane had started to fade, too? "Where's Shane?" I demanded.
He tossed his hands into the air, "She speaks!" He noticed my sour mood, and cleared his throat. "Shane? Well, he isn't doing so good. He took most of the impact, I believe he tried to save you, but with his restraints, wasn't exactly able." I swallowed painfully, I was parched again. He took the liberty of noticing, and fetched me a glass of water.
