Around the sixth grade I started developing a love for art. I was a huge anime nerd who constantly recited the 10-20 Japanese words I knew that I had learned from anime. An my love for these big eyes characters traveled from the screen to paper. Not only did I enjoy drawing these, it was something that I began to be pretty alright at. By the 7th grade I started getting attention from friends for my art. So in the begging of the 8th grade I decided to take my schools art class. For a whole semester I was going to be spending my elective time with my favorite teacher, drawing. How things ended up However were not as I expected.
The first day of class I eagerly walked into the white room to several unfamiliar faces. I sat at an empty table hoping someone I knew walked in. When the bell rung my teacher assigned us seats. Assigned seats were something I always dreaded, but armed with my earbuds I didn't worry about talking to anyone. I was sat beside a slightly familiar face. His name was Jose, he was my crushes friend and I was pleasantly surprised to be put by him. I soon created this seemingly perfect plan that I would befriend Jose so I could get close to his friend and my crush, Ron. I soon found that Jose was really easy to talk too, and he had the same interest in anime as I did. We'd talk about anime and I'd give him drawing tips.
I had known Jose from the 7th grade but hadn't talked much until now. He was awkward and nerdy but so was I, though there was an odd aura about him I couldn't seem to get over.
Every day in class we would end up seating together. Every week my teacher would assign us new seats but he always seemed to find his way beside me. I didn't think much of it as I was so involved in my art. My relationship with Jose soon began to change.
