Connie walked briskly into the ED she went straight into her office . She and William had arrived back from abroad yesterday and Connie had decided to go straight back to work. Connie had left baby William with a childminder that Connie had recently hired. Connie was keen to avoid Jacob so she decided that for today she would be non-clinical. Connie was getting on with her mountain of paperwork. Jac walked in.
"You could've knocked" snapped Connie 'Oh sorry didn't realise it was you Jac'.
"Don't worry Connie it's alright" said Jac she sat down on the sofa 'Connie are you okay, you don't seem yourself talk to me '.
Connie sighed "Well you know Jacob took me abroad last week?"
"Yeah".
"Well the thing is we were on the beach it was complete bliss, I was properly relaxing for a change Jacobs brother and girlfriend were supposed to be joining us they live abroad you see, So well Jacobs brother Joseph  eventually turned up with his son, He was only a single day old when Joseph brought him Jacob didn't even know that they were expecting a baby, anyway Jospeh left the baby with us he didn't want the baby" explained Connie.
"Goodness" exclaimed Jac 'That must have been quite a surprise'.
"It was" replied Connie 'Anyway after Jospeh left the baby with us I went back to the hotel with William, meanwhile Jacob went to get some essentials items that we would need for him when Jacob got back to the hotel eventually he told me that he couldn't do this that he was afraid of letting William down he said he wasn't good enough to for William and that he needed to leave before he spoiled and messed up Williams life and maybe mine to so he left he said that no matter what he loved me though'.
"Oh Connie" sighed Jac she hugged Connie trying to comfort her as best as she could.
"I don't know what to do Jac" cried Connie
"Connie tell him how you feel he still loves you Connie you are the only girl for him he loves you more than anything, there is obviously something scaring him greatly" said Jac kindly 'I think he is scared of upsetting you, and therefore he ran Connie talk to him tell him how you feel try and do your best to show him that whatever happens you can get through anything together Connie he loves you and you clearly love him you can get through this together'.

Connie started crying she was overwhelmed by the situation  she was upset rightly so, she wished Jacob had stayed she loved him dearly she needed him. Jac saw how upset and vulnerable this whole upsetting situation she was in. Jac pulled her into a friendly hug and she tried to cheer Connie up time flew by and then Jac had to go because she had to prepare for  the launch of the Digby stent. She left harrier than she had to though, she decided to talk to Jacob try so that she could hopefully help resolve the current situation  which was making her best friend so unhappy.

Jac left Connie's office promising that she would come to Connie's later and help her look after little William. Jac walked around to the entrance of the emergent department were Jacob was he was sitting on a cold, damp bench staring into space. He was thinking about Connie and William and how much he wanted to be with them right now feed William his bottle and hold Connie close and tell her how much she meant to him. he knew that Connie was sitting in her office crying her eyes out. Usually he would go and comfort her and hold her close and promise her that she was loved. Though at the moment Jacob couldn't comfort Connie. He was scared petrified in fact of hurting Connie that's why he ran. When Jospeh had arrived suddenly with a baby. Jacob was reminded about how he and his five brothers had been abandoned by their father. Joseph arriving with the baby also reminded him how there selfish mother had ran of to Spain. Jacob got scared that he would fail Connie and William so he left his imagination ran away with itself. He knew that he wouldn't let down Connie but his family history made him upset and emotional that's why he had ram out on Connie and baby William. He wanted to be with Connie so much but after his little outburst abroad which had put Connie through so much pain and heartbreak he didn't think Connie would ever forgive him even though he was so aplastic for the misery he had put Connie though over the last consecutive week.

Jac went over to Jacob and sat down next to him.
"Hi Jacob" said Jacob
"Hi" muttered Jacob he wasn't in the best frame of mind.
"Jacob why did you leave Connie with the baby Connie's distraught she is practically in pieces she doesn't know how to look after the baby on her own" said Jac.

Jacob sighed he hated hearing that Connie was upset whenever he heard that something was wrong with Connie he would also go to
comfort her they only had been together for a week before Jacobs breakdown. Though Jacob had been chasing Connie round for over a year flirting with her making sure she was safe they had been together for a long time though only recently the pair had realised so. Jacob wished he had the bottle to go and comfort her back his own emotions had been getting the better of him. Jac looked at Jacobs sad expression she could tell that he was missing Connie greatly Jac had known Jackb since secondary school so she knew him well and could tell when something was bothering him she already knew that he had ran out on Connie and left the young baby with her. Jac wanted to know why Jacob had she knew something was obviously quite wrong and she had a faint idea of what but she wanted Jacob to tell her than underlying problem she wanted him to do it when he felt ready so she decided not to pressurise him into talking.

"Jacob listen to me Connie's tearing herself to pieces and you are sitting here doing nothing even if you won tell anyone why you left Connie but you are the only one who can comfort her properly and make her feel okay so do the decent thing and comfort her surely after everything the pair of you have been through together you can just be nice towards her?" Said Jac.
"I can't comfort her" muttered Jacob 'I can't I will just eventually hurt or even upset her even more its best if I just leave her and the baby alone'.
"Jacob why do you think you will let her down?" questioned Jac 'Jacob Connie's happy with you happier than I have ever seen her since you broke it with her she has gone back to being miserable, why do you think it's good to leave her you have already upset her and made her unhappy why the hell did you think that was the smart thing to do seriously?'.
"My dad my brothers my whole bloody family Jac that's why" Jacob replied angrily.
"Jacob just because of your family history you seriously can't think leaving".
"Yes Jac, I can you know why" Jacob stood up and started to walk in the direction of the pub.
Jac got up and followed him "Honestly Jacob seriously do you think getting you self hammered will help?".
"Well?" Shouted Jacob 'What the else have can i do I need to these horrible shitty memories to go away!".
"Jacob talk to me!".
"Please Jacob talk to me for you sake" screamed Jac she was getting stressed out,
"I can't I can't be bothered to do anything for my self". He walked of .
"If you can't do it for me me do it for Connie" Jac shouted back at an angry Jacob.
Jacob turned around to face Jac what she had just said hit him hard he had to tell Jac why he wouldn't for Connie's sake.
