Almost eight years ago, my family and I were being chased by the humans. They had cornered us against a cold, metal concealment cage. My older brother pushes me behind him and stands beside our parents. He had only just developed his powers and hand no control over them what so ever, but like all typical teenage boys, he thought he was invincible. His evolution self, had the power of smokiness, which is the ability to control the weather. Rain, hail or shine literally. And because of him only developing his power, he could only make it drizzle. Which I thought incredibly amusing and he absolutely frustrating.

His jet black was tousled around, his electric blue eyes scanning the area and his dark grey shirt ripped, showing his natural olive sun-browned skin, wearing dark blue jeans and standing at 6'2 feet, it was no wonder every girl use to be all over him. My 40-year-old mother was standing beside him with her naturally wavy caramel hair cut short only reaching her shoulder, wearing a pair of dirty jeans and a dark maroon top. With her capability of being immune and able to control fire and flame, it was no wonder she was a fire-fighter and one of the best too. Her pregnant body was protecting my brother and me, but Lachlan quickly pushes her behind him, the 3 Humans pointing their swords and one other carrying at throwing axe at us; revolvers, war machines and aeroplanes, no longer exist. And when they are found, they might not even work, let alone finding ammo or fuel to make it fire.

Scott, my Dad, says in a clear, manly voice, "Why do this to us? We can help you." The beefiest of the lot swung his sword around and spat at us, a slur in his voice "Ha! All you lot want to do is make us your slaves, show that you 'superior' to us. But no! We will destroy you and your kind. We will make Earth whole again." Dad just shook his head and looked towards Lachie. Lachie nods his head in the slightest bit, Dad doing the same back at him. They looked towards the Humans and Lachie shouted "Now!" He draws his falchion sword and charged, Dad turns around and lifts his hands, peeling the metal back, making a terrible shredding sound, making a doorway towards the snow-filled pine tree forest. "Quickly Evelyn go with your mother."

Pushing me through the hole. I grab Mum's hand, and we both sprint towards the safety of the thick pine trees covered with snow, snow still falling, falling faster every minute that past. We stand there hiding behind a thick pine tree away from the human's arrows catching our breath. When I hear feet coming towards us, I stick my head out, pulling my small stone dagger that I made myself, from my sheath. Only to find Lachie escaping the concealment centre and sprinting towards the forest, holding his now bloody falchion. I yell out towards him "Lachie! Over here!"Running out towards him, away from the shelter of the trees. Lachie runs towards me, narrowly missing an arrow, which nicks his arm. He ignores it and continues running towards the forest, He then calls out. "Dad I'm safe!" I then hear another groaning and shredding sound and Dad sprinting as fast as he can.

Lachie calls out behind me, "Evs come here! Hurry!" I ignore him and yell "Dad! We are here!" His response was pointing back towards the forest, it was now snowing heavily, making my vision blurry, so I wave my hands above my head. He runs past me grabbing my hand pulling hand on my hand. Panting he says to me "Why didn't you listen?! Now Run!" Unable to keep up, with my ten-year-old self, I gradually slow down. "I can't keep up!" I breathe/ half yell "Just keep running!" He replies. We were both almost shielded away in amongst the pine trees, when a sudden pain erupts from my left shoulder, "Ahhhhh!" "Evelyn!" My family yells out. Dad turns around and snaps the arrow shaft, and carries me bridle style. I cry out with every step he took. I look at his unshaven face, and pray that my family will stay safe. My vision goes blurry, and I become unconscious.
