August 15, 2006

The next morning I got an instant message from Beatrix: I can't wait to see Alex again... He's so cute Tabby... Ugh. See you in a few.

I smiled as I looked at the message off of my computer and soon took a shower, brush my hair, brush my teeth and made some breakfast. Before I could even make my breakfast, there sat my dad drinking his coffee in the same spot every morning before he goes to work, "Good morning princess." he says as he rubbed his eyes, "How was your first day? Made any friends?" he joked as he looked over at me.

I smiled at him shyly before grabbing a bowl, "I made two friends actually, two really awesome friends." I say as I grabbed a box of Honey Nut Cheerios from the pantry. My dad smiled, "That's great princess. I hope you have a good day. I will catch you later." he then gets up and walks over and plants a kiss on the top of my head before heading out the door. Before I could even sit down to enjoy my cereal I looked down at my phone to check for the time and for any missed calls.

I hope I get to see Derek today. He isn't like other guys. He's funny, he's smart. Then I realized I was developing feelings for a guy I just met, I sighed. "Hey, are you going to let me in?!" Beatrix says as she stood by the back door. "You nearly gave me a heart attack," I jumped as I then walked over and opened the door for her. Typical Beatrix.

"What's for breakfast?" she says as she puts her backpack on the counter. "Look into the fridge, Einstein." I teased her, "That's where most of the food is in." Beatrix looked over at me as she grabbed a bag of carrots and started to munch on them, "So, I think we should get going, I think Alex and Derek will be here any moment." I nodded as I cleaned my bowl and grabbed my backpack, "Ready for day two?" I say with a smile. "I was born ready." she laughs.

As we made our way outside of my house, there sat Alex and Derek playing a quick game of cards. Derek grabbed the cards and handed them to Alex before standing up, "Good morning ladies." he says sheepishly, "ready for another round of awesomeness?!" he exclaimed. Both Beatrix and I laughed, Of course, we were ready.

Alex was discussing if he made good grades without getting any trouble this semester, his dad was going to get him a car, "She'll be perfect, I can drive her to school with you guys in it! It'll be awesome!" he grins. Beatrix then lost her sense of balance, "Sorry, I'm such a klutz." she would always say but only, in reality, it was because she really liked Alex. Alex laughs softly as he helps her up, "It's okay, as long as you are okay and have no blood or broken bones then you should be fine." he flashes a smile at her.

I was trying to keep up with Derek, "So, did you see the new Batman movie?" I say, trying to start a conversation with Derek. "Batman Begins?" Derek corrects me then nods, "Who hasn't? Besides it came out last summer, it's not considered "new"." he says with air quotation marks. Alex lets out a boisterous laugh, "Tabitha, he has seen every Batman movie up to date. Don't let him fool you." he says as we got closer to school, "So, we are going to meet up at lunch, yeah?" he asks as he looked at us as we all nodded, "Great. See you guys there!" he smiles and heads into the building, Derek followed behind him.

"Ready for English?" I teased Beatrix as we followed behind Derek and Alex. Beatrix mocked me and laughed as we started heading towards the hall where our English class was in. "Who let the witches back in the school?" I faintly hear Andrea as I walked down the hall, "Who let the horse out of her saddle?" I muttered before Andrea pushed me against the wall.

Beatrix turns around quickly, "Let her go, Andrea, we have to get to class, we are going to be late." She says frantically. Andrea let her grim smile out, "Oh look, the bell is ringing." she says at that moment as the tardy bell rings and looked over at me, "If I ever see you again, calling me a horse, I will kill you." she laughs as she walks off.

I felt a shiver down my spine and looked over at Beatrix, "Did she just threatened me?" Beatrix nodded slowly, we started walking again before the hall monitor stopped us, "Ladies, you are late." he says, looking down at us. I could give him a couple reasons why we were late to class but it was no use. He gave us both passes, "Don't let it happen again, it's the first week of school and we don't have time to send students to detention the first week of school. Am I clear?" he says as he looked at us and we nodded, "Now, get to class please." he says as we started walking into our English class.

I couldn't believe that Andrea threatened to kill me. What am I going to do? Beatrix and I slid our passes on Mr. Roberts desk and he looked up at us, "The notes are on the board. Copy them and put them in your binder." he says in a very monotone voice. Great, can lunch come any faster? I thought as I slouched in my chair next to Beatrix as I started taking notes.
