niall's job for the day was to get a dna sample of joji before he was buried; just a quick check to make sure he wasn't the smiley killer, niall doubted this.

"hey, hyojin?" he stopped her in the office, the woman freezing and turning around.
"oh, h-heyy, niall!" she smiles awkwardly, trying to leave quickly.
"i need a dna sample of your dad?" he looked at her nervous figure questioningly.
"you've been taking your medication, right?"

"yeah, i have!" she smiles, walking into the elevator quickly and pressing the button as niall gets to the closing doors.

"what the hell?" he mutters to himself, walking down the stairs.

upon getting outside, he steps into his car, sophia still in the passenger seat.
"why's mom acting all weird?"

"good question." he grunts, pulling out and driving toward their house. "you ready to be home?" he smiles at his daughter, the girl nodding her head quickly. "i love coming home."

"i love it when you come home, too." pulling into their driveway, he finds the door already open.
getting out of his car, niall walks through the front door to find a man, about 5'9, sitting beside hyojin, letters in his hand.
"you've been hiding these, haven't you, sis?" he grins mischievously, waving them in her face.

"calvin, they just gave them to me from niall's office. i'm not giving my husband your fucking faggot letters." she growls, snatching them away.

"oh, you may as well." niall sighs, holding out his hand.
"they're meant for me."

"oh, niall," calvin smirks a bit, "nice to finally see you after hearing so much."

"ah, calvin." niall's cheeks flush slightly, hyojin placing the letters in his hand.
"i'll read these later. your previous letters were.. something." he laughs a bit.

"mom!" sophia grins, hugging hyojin tightly.
"aw, i missed you, baby!" she smiles, hugging her daughter back.
"i can't wait to see grandpa." the girl smiles darkly, her mother frowning a bit.
"soph, austin and i decided to put him in the oven instead. like, ashes and stuff. so all of us can have a little bit of grandpa, yeah?"

"hyojin, you were supposed to let me have-"
"he isn't the killer, so why does it matter?"

"it's my job, it most definitely matters."

the woman scoffs heartlessly, shrugging. "we have all of the money in the uk, niall, do you honestly think your silly police job makes a difference?"

"i take my job very fucking serious, if you may." he grimaces.

"hey, sophia, you know me?" calvin gives the short girl a noogie, laughing a bit.
"you're missing uncle calvin."
"you want to come outside instead of listening to this?"
calvin worriedly looks at the couple, walking outside with sophia.

"okay, but your job doesn't make us more money that anything else would." the woman crosses her arms.
"hyojin, our daughter looks at me as a hero because of what i do. do you know how much that means to me?"
