It turned out that Sasuke could get sick, and he spent the week after New Year's with a cold, the same as yours. You scolded him for it and told him that he should have listened to you, but of course he was too stubborn to listen. You suffered together, and while you stayed home from work, Sasuke still went to his office every day. You told him that being out and about all day would only make him worse, but of course he didn't listen when you told him that either. He was a dedicated man, and he wouldn't let a measly cold get in the way of doing business. Nothing would get in the way of his work, and while a part of you found that to be very admirable, you also saw it as one of his greatest flaws.
January passed by in a flash, and you were now in February. Love was in the air, and especially in the café. The chefs started whipping up batches of heart shaped cookies and pink frosted doughnuts, and Sora decorated the restaurant with red and pink flowers. You had neutral feelings about the day of love. It'd been a long time since you'd had someone to share the day with, so eventually you lost your excitement for it. You knew that Sasuke wasn't much of the romantic type, and that he probably wouldn't be planning anything amazing. Maybe he'd bring you out for dinner or drinks, or maybe you would stay in. Your expectations weren't any higher than the other dates you'd gone on.
The other girls seemed to have different ideas. You told them a few weeks before about you and Sasuke being in a relationship, and although they seemed unsurprised by the news, they were extremely happy for you. A week before Valentine's Day, you got together after work in Sora's apartment, and as you were all discussing your plans for Valentine's Day, Sasuke was brought up into conversation.
"So," Rin said and smirked at you, "what does Mr. CEO have planned for the big day?" she asked, and all eyes were on you.
You felt yourself blush out of embarrassment. "I don't know, he hasn't told me anything about it."
"So he's surprising you," she went on. "I bet he's going to do something big, like fly you to Paris." Everyone stared at her incredulously. "What? He's rich, he could do something like that."
You rolled your eyes at her. "He's not going to fly me to Paris."
"He'll probably take you to a really expensive restaurant," Emiko said, sounding dreamy.
"He'll bring you a huge bouquet of roses, and a diamond necklace!" Miki added, and suddenly everyone was sharing how they thought Sasuke would express his feelings for you on the big day.
"Guys, stop," you said with a laugh. "He's not really the romantic type, I doubt he'd make some big romantic gesture like that."
"Sure he would," Emiko said reassuringly, but you didn't need reassuring. It wasn't like you were upset that Sasuke wasn't some suave, romantic guy. He showed his affection for you in different way; little ways. Like how he would subconsciously run his fingers across your skin when you sat together watching a movie, or how he would tuck your hair behind your ears when he talked to you. He was his own kind of romantic, and you adored him for it.
"I guess having a super-rich boyfriend is enough of a gift already," Rin said, and everyone laughed.

Sasuke didn't mention any Valentine's plans until the night before. You were watching a movie and cuddling on the couch; him sinking into the corner of the couch with his arm around you, and you snuggled into his side. In the middle of the movie, he said, "I made dinner reservations for us tomorrow night at Riviera's."
It was out of nowhere, and you were frankly a little surprised. You knew that the two of you would spend Valentine's Day together, but with no word from him up until that point, you figured the night would consist of takeout, movies, and Monopoly. Not to mention he was taking you to Riviera's, which was one of the classiest, fanciest, and priciest restaurants in the city.
"Oh," was all you managed to say. "That sounds nice."
"You don't sound very excited," he said amusingly.
"No, it's not that," you promised. "I just didn't know we were going to do anything big."
"I wouldn't call having dinner together 'big'."
"Riviera's is a super classy place though. I couldn't even afford a breadstick from there."
Sasuke chuckled. "You don't have to worry about that."
"Well just you wait, Sasuke Uchiha, because I got you a pretty great present."
He raised an eyebrow. "Did you now."
"I did indeed. It's probably even better than yours."
He looked at you with amusement. "Is that so."
"Guaranteed, I'm the best girlfriend in the world," you said, and then blushed. You'd never referred to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend before. You told people that you were dating or seeing each other, but you hadn't titled yourselves yet.
Sasuke caught what you said too, and smirked. "So you're my girlfriend now, huh?"
You hit him with a pillow. "Oh shut up, you know I'm your girlfriend."
"I know," he said, still smirking. "I've just never heard you say it before. If you're my girlfriend, then that would make me your..."
You rolled your eyes at his unusual childishness. "My boyfriend, Sasuke. You're my boyfriend."
"Geez, you don't have to sound like someone died every time you say it," he said calmly, and you hit him with a pillow again, and he laughed a short, quick laugh. It was so rare to hear Sasuke laugh – not a chuckle or a sarcastic little amused grunt- but an actual laugh, that every time you heard it, you felt your heartbeat pick up and your body tense and relax at the same time.
"You won't be laughing tomorrow when my gift beats yours," you said proudly.
"You won't be laughing either," he said lowly in your ear, which send shivers up and down your spine. "For different reasons."
