It was 7:58, ok, a bit early, but so what? It's perfectly fine to be early. She waited by the woods for Owen. She wondered what the consequences would be for this. Normal parents ground their children for a month or so, but her father, whoops her if she squeaks. She was absolutely terrified and started having doubts about this. She wanted to turn back, she wanted to go back in her bed and go to sleep as if nothing happened. Sure, it was her birthday, but her father would give her a beating a hundred times worse than the normal ones. Her heart quickened as she she heard footsteps behind. She didn't turn around, she dare take any risks. She breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Owen's voice. She turned around, and her heart lifted like a balloon when she saw him. Then dropped dead when she heard her father's yells.
