Hidden Magic

New Beginnings

I slowly opened my eyes as a bright light shone into them, causing me to squint to adjust my vision. I heard soft whispers around me.

"A girl?"

"Wasn't she the slave?"

"Where's everyone else?"

"You gotta be kidding me..."

I looked up from where I sat and realized that I was in a crater and half the city was on the top looking down at me. I smiled.

I did it Anna! We can be free now!

I looked around me and saw that my master was gone, a little nervous but mainly relieved I stood up and pumped my fist in the air in victory.

The crowd cheered wildly.

"(y/n)! (y/n)!" I turned around to see Anna pushing through the crowd and jumping into the crater.

Tripping on her chains I caught her and smiled.

"Anna we did it! We're free!! We can go explore this world together! I have enough money to help us live big our entire life! Anna, let's go see the ocean!" I said happily.

She nodded, happy tears in her eyes.

"Here look!" I held out my arms to show her my metal vessel.

Her mouth opened in awe as she ran her fingers lightly over the chains.

"They're beautiful..." she breathed.

"Let me show you something." I kneeled down and pushed her skirt from her feet, exposing her chained ankles.

I took a deep breath and focused on my hands and Anna's chains. I grabbed the chain and squeezed it, and as if by magic it snapped in two.

Anna gasped and held her hands to her mouth, crying more now. I smiled up at her.

"See now your truly free!" I stood up and flung my leg, making my chains explode off my feet.

I slung the ginormous bag of treasure over my bag and grabbed Anna's hand.

"Let's get some comfy clothes and bunk in a fancy inn tonight, until we can get on a ship to an island with a great beach!" I said as we walked out of the crater, being congratulated by the crowed, and given pats on the back as we passed.

We walked into town and found a clothing booth. We shopped for hours until I found the perfect outfit, and Anna did too. I chose a breathable strapless top with some soft cream colored baggy pants. Anna chose a strapless white cloth dress and gorgeous full body jewelry.

I grabbed a belt and slung it loosely around my waist as I attached one of the knifes I got from the dungeon to it.

I also loosely put on a beautiful chain around my waist, it had a little charm that was bright red.

I looked at myself in the mirror, admiring my new look. I combed through my hair and put it up into a thick ponytail.

Anna admired herself as well, as she ran her fingers through her short boy-like hair.

"Here!" I said giggling as I put two little rubber bands into her hair, giving her baby pigtails.

She laughed as she turned to see the end result.

"We'll take these, thank you!" I said, bowing in appreciation, as I handed the merchant some gold coins.

He smiled and we went on our way.

That night we settled in a lush inn, something we would never dream of doing. I sat in bed while Anna snoozed away.
