i proceed through the entrance of baskin robbins, just as tammy, my manager, reminds me that i'll be training a new emoloyee today.
finally, i won't be one-manning during my shifts anymore. "make sure to show them all the ropes before they begin working hands-on, haze!" tammy demands as she takes her first step out the door.
"you got it!" i smile at her, and help the first customer in line.
"hi, welcome to baskin robbins! what can i get for you today, miss?" i ask, cordially.
"i'll take a scoop of strawberry cheesecake and a scoop of vanilla in a cup, please." the young woman requests.
"alrighty, i'll ring you up right over there," i point to the register as i dig into the strawberry cheesecake ice cream.
i return to the cash register and look up at her, "that'll be $9.24."
"wow, super expensive here," she remarks. tell me about it.
"have a wonderful day," i smile, as she proceeds to leave.
just as she's about to push the glass entrance door open, someone politely opens the door for her and lets her exit first.
that someone must be my trainee! that trainee, is jack fucking gilinsky.
