Today was very conflicting with my regular schedule.
It began when I returned home after my average Wednesday schooling and checked my postal box.The contents included documentations and government bills addressed to my parental figures and one packaged addressed to myself,Isaac Statham.
As I progressed to my personal confinements I left the appropriate postal documents for their respective persons. As I entered my personal confinements with the package in hand,It was designated as a special pre-release of respected author Eric Armitage's series.
As an intellectually stimulating pass time,I decided to read it.Upon reading the book,it was discovered it was in fact blank.Approximately 378 pages save for one at the end which simply read "Welcome to Etherio".
What followed was a sequence of events which annoyed 'the Wizard @ultimatelifelessnerd' so much he refused to write it over again every time he introduced a character.
When I returned to consciousness I was in a solid stone room decorated with red tapestries,a desk filled with parchment and ink in a corner and several orderly stacks of books.I appeared to be lying on a futon of sorts. As I tried to compute my current situation,an elderly bearded-man with dark skin dressed in a very archaic cloak entered through the door.
"Anthony, you are late for Advanced Arcane Zodiacs tuition.Report to Dreyfus at once in the Arcadium at once!" he exclaimed before abruptly leaving.I temporarily lost prioritization at the insult to my punctuality. And then my priorities were established as asserting my whereabouts.
I stood up and examined my attire.A plain pants and shirt made of a black fabric, simple black leather boots,a purple cloak that laid on a rack behind me and a metal band on a leather bracelet on my right wrist. The metal band had a series of runes on it.
I made my way to the books and scanned for ones that might be of use.The most useful yet eerie one was a journal belonging to someone of my exact same name.In it lay a detailed description of a life I had never heard of yet felt like it was familiar.
As I read scorch marks through the pages I was simultaneously concluding the nature of my predicament. The elderly man had called me by my name and clearly recognized me.Later I find a journal describing a person who based on the name and reactions to situations, presumably was I.Amongst the other contents of the journal was a map of a building called the Magisterium.A school magic, which considering my current situation was plausible.
The room I was in had no windows and was according to the journal, enchanted for luminescence. It formed part of the dorms for the 15 year old students.I had been here for exactly 8 years 2 months and 5 days.I was studying Arcane magic and Alchemy, both relying on these complex zodiacs.I was apprentice to Dreyfus for Arcane and Gangley for Alchemy.I decided to continue under the guise of this worlds Anthony.I had finally concluded what this word was.It was puzzle.I never liked puzzles.
I exited my room to a corridor of cobblestone. The wall I entered from had several more doors like mine along it.Directly opposite were large stained glass windows depicting characters in robes. The ceilings were high with arches roughly every 8 meters.following the map I had drawn myself,I made my way to the Arcadium where I was to meet Dreyfus.I passed several other students who seemed to be interested in their own business and one appeared to be a cat-human hybrid.Perhaps in this world, magic wasn't such a rejected possibility.
I walked past a mirror and halted. Not out of vanity but of astonishment. My overall appearance mirrored that of my usual self.Short black hair and dark skin but my eyes were different. The sclerae were black and my irises were purple.Nevertheless I continued.
I found the Arcadium. It was a large room with a dome over head. The dome depicted a 3D imag of the sky with constellations I had never seen before and planets too close for Earths atmosphere. But I most likely wasn't on Earth. The room made the stone walls and floor glow a certain goldish color.Sitting on the center on a pillow was a man with tanned skin, long black hair pulled back into a pony tail with a red streak in it and a black goatee.
As I approached he looked as if meditating.Opposite him was another pillow and in between was an intricate jagged polyhedron puzzle.I sat down on the pillow and he woke abruptly, apparently he was sleeping. He was wearing a white tunic with brown animal hide pants and no shoes. He wore a ring set with obsidian on his right rig finger. He appeared very lackadaisical.
I picked up the puzzle and then he spoke."Wow,thanks for being late.Gave me a good chance to sleep.I see you noticed my little gift. One of the most complex novelties in Etherio .Just try to get it into a square. Many have tried and never succeeded.A representation of my lessons." he said.
"I never liked puzzles, especially complex ones." I replied.
"Why?Were they always too difficult?" he beckoned.
"No,because I always felt sad after finishing them" I said, hand him a perfect cube.
