Nico stared at the text Will had sent in bewilderment. What was Will talking about?

What the Hades is a meme? Nico thought. He bit his lip trying to figure out a definition for this word; however, none came to mind. Nico happened to be passing Will right at that moment. He quickly reached for Will's arm. Will turned to face Nico, "Hey, Death Boy." Nico only rolled his eyes at the nickname Will have him. "Did you get my text?" "Yeah I did, but what exactly is a me-me?" Nico asked, looking up at him in confusion. Instead of saying anything, Will burst out laughing. Nico stared at him, raising an eyebrow. He didn't understand what was so funny about his question. Was the definition a really obvious one? Nico felt his cheeks heating up in embarrassment as Will continued to laugh, clutching his stomach. Finally after a while, Will stopped laughing. Now there was just a grin on his face. "What was so funny about that?" Nico asked. "It's a meme not me-me, silly!" "I still don't know what that is!" "Well Nico, I have a lot explaining to do."
Will put his arm around Nico and started to walk with him, explaining everything he needed to know about memes. Will would occasionally pull up pictures of the memes as he explained each meme and its history. The whole time Nico just wondered why people had an obsession with these things. Was it some kind of fetish?
A few days later Nico found himself in a meme addiction. One of the things he and Will did a lot was send a bunch of memes to each other. There was one meme Will hadn't explained to Nico. Will had sent a picture of a strange green frog.

"Peep the frog." Nico said out loud. Will was sitting right across Nico in the Hades cabin so he heard him. He chucked and shook his head. "Gods, I need to explain more about memes to you." Will told Nico the correct pronunciation for the meme before explaining more. "Pepe the frog kind of freaks me out. He makes me uncomfortable." "I think that's what the creators were going for."
