Chapter five Warriors
"Let me show you how this works. You press a button and the cage number comes up. For instance, I want cage two." Liam pressed cage"Why does it matter which number comes up?" I asked bewildered.
"Because these cages are adapted to their powers." Nightmask threw the men in their cages.
"That's Cool... And kind of creepy." I backed up.
"They don't work on you though. You are like a Swiss army knife. You speak different languages, you have magic, you have combat skills, and there is probably something else." Liam complimented me. His eyes glittered as if he were a kid in a candy store.
"I'm going to go take a nap." Nightmask yawned and walked off.
"Can I run some tests on you?" Liam asked.
"I'm not your lab rat." I rolled my eyes. We walked outside and sat on a park bench. I could hear Victoria following behind us.
"Qui vous a donné les roses?" Liam asked. I quickly translated what he was saying. He asked me who gave me the roses.
"Who knows?" I lied.
"Gagawinafternoon." He replied in Filipino.
"Quante lingue conosci?" I asked him in Italian.
"Finally, we have skipped to my native language! Non ho capito niente di tutto questo!" She smiled.
"Sorry but I only speak English so cut this out." Apis badgered.
"Really Quin, who gave you the flowers?" Liam asked.
"I don't know." I answered.
"Why were those two sent specifically to you? Why not one of us?" He questioned.
"I don't know." I echoed. I started to get nervous and ask myself terrifying questions. I asked myself: What if they knew I let him go? What will they do to me if they found out? Was it a bad idea letting him go? Why is he giving me the roses and two men? What if-
"Beep beep, beep beep!" Liam's watch started beeping loudly.
"We have another mission. Some abnormal humans are tearing stuff up," Liam sighed "there goes my afternoon
We ran into the city to do damage control. The "abnormals" were throwing cars and terrorizing citizens. There was a woman with a baby stroller running from one of the scariest creatures I have ever saw. The creature had spikes all over his body and what looked like a spike ball on its tail. I ran to the woman's aide but I didn't know what to do. The next thing I know I screamed "Dumka levier" and the creature fell to the ground clutching his ears. I turned to the woman and smiled but she didn't have the same expression. She kept screaming and running as if I were going to kill her. I kept watching as she ran into an old building with pure terror in her eyes.
"Look out!" I was pushed to the ground with a thud. I looked up to see who it was but I didn't recognize him. He had blonde hair, blue eyes, and a round face. He wore a black mask and a rusty red suit. I looked around to see why he pushed me but I couldn't come up with an answer.
"Why did you push me?" I snapped.
"You mean you didn't see the giant bird swoop down at you?" He panted. I looked up and saw that there was a giant black bird above us.
"Oh..." I trailed. The bird was black like the animals that Category 4 changed into "why are you doing this? You said you were going to be good!"
"Let's go, I don't think that thing wants to talk." The boy took my arm and tried to lead me away.
"I don't even know your name. I am Quin." I introduced myself.
"They call me Scarden but my real name is Lucas" He blurted "why did I just tell a random stranger that?"
"Lucas?" I asked.
"Yeah don't tell anyone or-" he tried to explain himself but a giant black wolf knocked him to the floor.
"Get off of him!" I tried to push Category off of him but he didn't budge.
"Havaben Folio Deli-" I felt a sharp pain before I could finish my spell. I looked down and saw that a knife had pierced through my side.
"There you go princess! Stuck with your own blade." I heard a voice behind me. I didn't know what they meant about a blade but at the moment I didn't care.
"Quin!" I looked up from the blade to see Category 4 in human form covered in weeds. I crumpled to the ground and curled in a ball. The pain was too much to bear but I was somehow I was still alive. I slipped off to sleep in a matter of seconds.
"Quin! Come on Quin you are alright." I opened my eyes to see Lucas above me.
"I'm fine. Now let's go fight some bad guys!" I cheered.
"I don't think you can do much fighting Q." He lifted me up.
"What if we are the bad guys? What if they are protecting them from us?" I croaked. He kept carrying me away from the fighting. I thought of the woman running away from me.
"If that's so then why didn't you hurt anyone yet?" He asked setting my down on the concrete gently.
"Scarden look out!" I heard someone yell and Scarlets head snapped back to see what was going on. A car started to fly in our direction.
"Jenalia cle-"
"Save your strength." Scarlet said as he shot giant weeds at the car. The car was crushed and shattered glass fell everywhere.
"Why am I not dead yet?" I asked.
"You don't want those to be your last words, do you Q?" He chuckled. His eyes were gentle yet strong at the same time.
"Are you from Texas?" I asked panting. I could feel the blood leaving my body.
"Yeah, born and raised." He smiled. We made awkward eye contact for a few seconds until it was inturupted by my attacker.
"Trial drie blovimy. Mliak nitalim Kila." She slurred. She had green skin and black hair put in braids.
"Don't worry, his death will be painless. Yours won't Kila." I translated.
"Lovely." He breathed. He didn't seem scared just frustrated. She lunged towards us and I closed my eyes as tight as I could. When I opened them I saw that she was covered in flowers.
"Flowers?" I asked.
"They have a gas... Well just wait a minute." The flowers burst and gas started to fill the air. The woman's eyes rolled into her head and she fell to the ground.
"Oh."
