The beginning

I started to creep across the dark ally way. I knew that someone was following me, they were since I left my little hideout. I usually had people watching me because I am a bad-girl-hero but this guy was different. People usually took pictures of me to put the famous "Black Bird" on social media. I Pressed my earpiece signaling for Adon. The air was bitter cold and my teeth chattered. I was wearing a skin tight suit so it didn't provide much warmth.

"What do you want? I am doing something important." he seemed uneasy. Adon was my partner at the academy where we studied science, crime, magical beings and learned how to fight. We were put on a team of super spies after our time there. Adon wanted to be called the "Dark arrow" or "the lord of the skies" (which makes no sense because he can't fly). I just call him Adon or Adon Joseph Heart when I get mad.

"I'm at the drop off, I am taking matters into my own hands. We will see what Liam is hiding." I whispered. Liam is our team leader, millionaire, who has enough ego for the whole team. He doesn't usually hide things but he his this place from me.

"I'm sorry what?" Adon yelled over the ear piece "no, Victoria don't-" I crushed the piece and left it on the concrete.

"Should have seen that coming." I pulled a piece of my blonde hair out of my black mask. Unlike Adon, my identity is very important to me. I crept further down the alley way and my follower was close behind. I quickly covered my face with my shirt and set off a smoke bomb. I took off running making sure to lose my stalker and found a locked door. Of course, there was never a door I could not open. I attached a silent bomb on the door and it went off. I quickly slipped inside and was greeted by a bright light. I adjusted my eyes and saw a large box in the middle of the room. It was made of metal and had a small door on the side. I took in my surroundings, there was a guard at the for and two more pacing. I hid behind some tall boxes and left the door on the floor. The air seemed hot and humid as if the air conditioning was turned off.

"Look! Someone busted the door open!" I heard two of the men run towards the door. The man guarding the box must have stayed put.

"Wow, I guess you could say I'm the bomb," I joked "never mind, I am never doing that again. Jokes are Axons thing ." I kicked one men to the ground and then I punched the other. I turned to the other man and started to walk towards him.

"Miss please," he started shaking "don't do this. You don't know what you are doing."

"Has Liam told you what's in here?" I asked walking closer.

"No, he doesn't know either. All we know is-"

"Thank you but I don't take orders from men," I kicked the door open. There was a girl huddled in the corner. She had dirty blonde hair, a patient's uniform and pale skin that had red blotches as if she were crying. She reminded me of my little sister because of her long lashes and bright lips. It was obvious that she wasn't wearing any make up.

"H-hel... Help m-me." The girl squeaked.

"Hey... Little girl..." I have never been the soft and warm type. Adon usually made fun of me for being socially awkward.

"Wow that was- that was something." Adon started laughing.

"How did you get here so fast?" I asked.

"You called I came, simple as that." He answered still laughing.

"Hey kid, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Wow, you have a mother's instinct." he laughed.

"Something is... wrong." she looked up and I gasped. The iris in her eye was rainbow colored. She had them shut tight before so I couldn't tell.

"I don't see the problem." Adon laughed. I punched him in the arm as hard as I could. Adon lived with a cruel family so he didn't really have manners.

"Please don't let them take me." She started wheezing.

"Woah, so that's what's in there. She is awesome!" Liam pulled out a D.H.F. DHFs are kind of like tablets but these are made of glass. I never really liked all of the tech Liam brought in, it just caused more problems.

"Help me..." She cried.

"Okay, let's get you out of there." I lifted her over my shoulder and carried her to our hideout.
